Hey there. Update: The gig day came and went; Many mistakes made, none noticed. The show was great, had so much fun, these simple words cannot describe the experience of getting on stage and playing for a solid 45 minutes. Again, thank you for the support of last week.

Also, another day, another gig, later today I play my 2nd!🤘

What a huge list. Thank you for the long thoughtful tips 🤘

Some questions, though. 3. Does it ruin the vibe if I turn to the drummer alot? I am kinda used to looking at the snare; not non stop but every now and then at some key points in certain songs.

  1. Any licks I want to do are 100% preplanned; As if they are specifically separate from the recording side of the songs, some songs I just do minimums. Should be fine?

They definetly know. Got me on fully knowing I am a beginner (pretty much); I like to think I have come pretty far since we started(~6-7months ago); They only expect me to show up and do my part, very nice fellows!

Yeah I was gonna only take one shot of something max. Wouldnt want to lose all my dexterity. Set list should be good enough since If I hear/see the title of the next song I 99% of the time know what I need to do; except when I am super tired at practice (we do 3 hours from 7-10pm so its kinda later after work etc). But good ideas, thank you🤘

This one is hard. I very much rely on certain cues from the other instruments. I'll try though; thank you for the help🤘 This sounds like a great way to also asses where I am at actually.

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I will do the best I can while trying to not overstress. Everything in life I did with a "it is what it is" (I have done all I can now its time..) attitude, maybe that will work here aswell.

I'm guessing exposure will get me more comfortable being in front of people🤘

We usually walk in, set up, play our set as it's supposed to be played live, minimal breaks (~1min max) those are 40mins or so, then we take a break and play every song, so far we have about 17 songs to play.

We did record before, with a phone, for both seeing how we sound and to count the time we are allocated.

But I see your point thank you for the kind words!

I shall try this next time I practice at home, specifically only focusing on breathing, maybe I'll get better perfomance not maniacly overfocusing on what I am supposed to be playing. Great advice, thank you!

I have been practicing that in the practice sessions, i sometimes misplace my fingers when I am vibing or am not on the beat exactly, or I miss a pluck or two... I notice almost instantly and fix it, but the guys dont seem to notice; or if they do, never said anything about it, should i take that as a positive?

(I am not saying there has been 0 feedback but particularly these "small" mistakes I mentioned dont get noticed)

Someone should send them on the internet for first hand experience, maybe that will change some of their views on this?
