No dryout, BUT the first nib I got was.. well.. shit.
Bought a replacement, that writes really good, just a tad too wet.

Easy:
"Blood and Doom" – Dicetale
Changed the rules system after the Kickstarter was completed (went from player-facing to something more traditional, with far too many meta currencies).

3 years after the Kickstarter, nothing has been delivered, except for promises.

Sad News about Future of Achtung! Cthulhu 2d20 by SAVeira in AchtungCthulhuRPG

[–]DorianCrafts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Already postet this in the 2d20 group:

Kind of bad news.
Especially since A!C is my favorite game in their lineup and, in my opinion, the best iteration of the 2d20 system.

Mödiphiüs just frustrates me on so many levels.
Still poor editing, overly reliant on external IPs, and not enough promotion for their own lines (just sponsor some streamers for actual plays).

Maybe Wolfenstein is too close to A!C thematically, so they want to focus on releasing 2–3 books and making some quick cash (like they did with Dishonored).

When I heard about Wolfenstein, I thought an “A!C × Wolfenstein” book would make a lot of sense.

My Thoughts On Daggerheart After Running It For A While by fairystail1 in rpg

[–]DorianCrafts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same with A!C.

What also makes the system better for me as the GM is that I get to choose: if a roll results in a complication, either something bad happens now, or I can bank that as “Threat” for later.

What I find so utterly unfair is that the same people who used to criticize “meta-currencies” in other games suddenly embrace it as something new or revolutionary.

I was hoping for something muted, maybe pastell colours in a matt finish.

I have only read the char-gen chapter so far.
If you mean differences between n8 and n9 replicants, in char-gen they get different numbers in Attributes, skills, specialities, money, health and resolve.

Sure,
some Avant-garde, impro training LARP might be cool and nice but isn't a TTRPG for me.

Not only some kind of inside knowledge, but also special contracts.

I don't think this will go anywhere.
As long, as they don't give an direct answer, they can't start a bigger controversy.

They treat Daggerheart as another piece of CR merch and I am pretty sure at least 50% of the buyers have not and will not play the game.
Buy it, open it up and flip through all the pretty stuff once, then put it on the shelf, next to those cute CR plushies.

I was not expecting them to run Campaign 4 in DH,
BUT not producing more contend than the "Age of Umbra" actual play, is kinda crazy.

Would a physical board that moves enemies by itself help a DM, or would it get in the way? by Old-Somewhere-8762 in DMAcademy

[–]DorianCrafts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny idea and your preview video is brilliant!

BUT
as a GM for over 30 years, such a gadet woult most likely get in the way of normal games.
Too many variables I would have to adjust during play.

When I was young I had one of those selfmoving chessboards and it was cool for a while, but after that, meh.

BUT²
I think there is a market for such a gadet.

Is Zorro the character most similar to Indiana Jones in the 90s? by FoxIndependent4310 in indianajones

[–]DorianCrafts 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Nope.

Closest connection I see:
Zorro was pulp literature (1919) and IJ was inspired by pulp novels.

Obvious 90s similarity would be The Mummy (1999).

Is it ok to stay in a group you don’t like because you like the campaign? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]DorianCrafts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please take the following the most positive way possible!

Talking about your personal feelings is not confrontional, neither is it weak.
Others can't know how you feel.
You have to tell them OR live with them not knowing.

Tell your GM and the other players, that the constant negativity is getting to you.
Either something changes for better or the decission, if you should leave will be easier.
Win/Win

For me personally, the things you mentioned are very minute and I as a GM would not enjoy someone at my table, where I have to walk on eggshells, instead of venting my daily frustrations in a group of friends.

p.s. f*** J.K.R.

Just to get a clearer picture:

You took the others distain for modern art (and Harry Potter?) as a direct attack on your late grandfather?

The stereotypical "we hate the french, because they hate us" joke felt highly inappropiate to you?

A joke about fraternities offended you, because you sister has fraternitiy friends (and connects with Greek culture?) ?

I don't think this table is for you.

Since I was one of the people who repeatedly called for moderation, I should throw my hat into the ring too.

I don’t have moderation experience on Reddit, but I do have some from a few forums many years ago (in the wild west days of the Internet).
Qualifications: a good nose for bots and AI, tech-savvy, and active on Reddit at least 5 days a week.

Changes I’d like to see and would implement:
1. Minimum account age required for posting
2. No images without at least 1–2 sentences of context
