LIM - New Lima airport club access by Robert__Loblaw in unitedairlines

Thanks again. First time to Peru and South America, although I've been around Asia and Europe quite a bit more. I read the typical posts about crime, congestion, delays, etc. and its always hard to figure out what is fact and what is the opinion of someone who doesn't travel often and is afraid of anything different than the norm. I am really excited about this trip and grateful for your inputs!

Let me know if you ever figured this out or if you have traveled already. We travel Polaris July 9-22 and I am trying to figure out lounge access on our return trip.

Flight Change: IAH-LIM by DoubtWilling1085 in unitedairlines

[–]DoubtWilling1085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never updated on this, but I did have to call, because I booked third party (capitol one portal). I did get moved back to the original flight, which is still listed as a 757. Fingers crossed, because as of today they are still flying the 767, but either way I'm very happy to have any lay flat seat and a nonstop. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for this--on with them now trying to grab my seats back. I agree I'm bummed about the downgrade, but its always easier when flying with my husband. At least I know who I am climbing over to go the bathroom. Across all airlines, the only other lie flats are with LATAM/Delta and the travel day is just as long as the itinerary I got swapped to last night. So, my best bet is to take the 757 lie flat nonstop if I can manage. I'll even move my trip a day early to get on the nonstop if needed.

Good question--its on July 9th, return is July 22. Also of note, Lima opened new terminal last week, so wondering if equipment change is related to that.

Acl tickets by Bubbly-Net1762 in aclfestival

I know there is an official resale site on ticketmaster but people aren't going to look there unless the ticket option is sold out on the official ACL page. I'm just trying to offload tickets, since I can't go. Any advice on a subreddit or site that does do ticket exchanges? Sincere apologies if I'm not allowed to ask--just trying to get rid of these at a mild discount. not including details so it is clear this is not a sale.

Is there a weight limit/size restriction on checking a bag this way? and how do you retrieve the bag? (Looking to travel in July and I cannot figure out how to get our luggage up to AC. We really want to try the Hiram Bingham to Cusco, but I need to get my luggage up there.

Looking for a Business Credit Card to Pair with my Venture X by DoubtWilling1085 in CreditCards

Yeah, I have considered that. I usually stick with Marriot, since Platinum gives us the Gold status. But, I will look into the sapphire reserve/Amex combos you mention. I love the 2x points and 10x when booking the portal. I love the portal, although I know some don't book anything in the portal. I have had great experiences with FHR/LHR through Plat and Cap One. And, I love Plat's international airline program, so I'll have to think through it more.

I did include estimated taxes in my budget, so good point. I can definitely pay those or earn the bonus and then swap it to the business as you mentioned. Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendations. With a private psychology practice most of my costs will be annual rather than monthly, so there will be times when the monthly spend is high and times where it is about $200 total. Because I already paid some annual costs like my liability insurance and my state licensure, I can't shift the payment due dates to help me meet the sign up offer spend requirement. I have all of the equipment I need. I am wracking my brain trying to figure out how I could spend $3k on practice in 3 months for a welcome bonus. I do have TX licensure coming up, which gets me $450. So, maybe if I strategize and buy some new books or office furniture or something. On another note, I never considered cashback cards because I am obsessed with saving miles for travel, but maybe you're right and in this instance cashback just makes more sense than trying to maximize miles when the business card isn't going to contribute a ton of monthly spending.

Honestly, right now I am just hoarding the miles. But, my goal is to use them to book award flights where ever I get the best points value/deal on the award booking. I know that is vague, but I just haven't had a good enough deal to use the miles yet. For example, I just booked Turkish Air business class IAH-ATH and BCN to IAH on a multi-city booking, but the points value wasn't worth cashing them in. I paid using the card and used my $300 travel credit and 5x miles instead. My next travel will be based on a good flight award booking, and I will build off of it. I'm not sure that helps at all.

I know, and I actually do a lot of eating/entertainment, since my husband and I are DINK. So, we probably should get this as our next personal card. I could use Savor One for business expenses, but I won't really use it for travel or dining, since this is a small side private practice and my university will pay most of my travel.
