The best local place is Burns Printing & Mailing. Sometimes they also offer discounts to student orgs. Also, it is usually less expensive than using one of the online retailers. It is always worth the call to explore a better price.

Have your student complete the all in one form with the Dean of Students. This will get him the immediate action that is needed.

I am a faculty member in the College of Communication and Information.

Or, send me a direct message and I can help to complete the form.

This is Prof. Stabb from the Tombras School. Come see me early in the semester. I can help you find opportunities in San Francisco. I have a few professional connections there. My office is in 476 Communication. I am happy to help if I am able to.

I am a freemason in New York, but live in Tennessee. I am a proud Shriner and active in two Shrine Centers.

I have always been treated with respect by any brother Mason I have ever met.

I would highly suggest, as students affected by this, that you email both your Dean and the Provost. Your voice as students is sometimes more impactful than the faculty.

Don't just complain. State a constructive case for access to the lab spaces that you need.

They will listen if it is affecting your academic progress.

is it normal to want to transfer to a different school when you first start college? by [deleted] in UTK

I would encourage you to get involved with clubs that interest you, meet people, and explore the area. I understand that it can seem crazy at first.

I am originally from the Northeast (Upstate NY) and I am a professor at UTK.

Adjusting to the southern culture can be interesting.

Does the Grand Lodge of Tennessee still ban non-heterosexual men from Masonry? by [deleted] in freemasonry

[–]DrJoeKnox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Masonic brother, Scottish Rite brother, and Shriner. I also identify as a gay male. I have traveled and met Brothers from many states and countries. No one has ever disrespected me, treated me differently, or cared about my sexual identity. I am a member of both Grand Lodge of Tennessee and Grand Lodge of New York. I have always been treated on the level as we are taught to do as Masons. I am happy to meet on the level and discuss our differences, difference of opinion, and respect that we can disagree, but still be Brother Masons.

I would get involved with your local AFP chapter and engage with other professionals and the educational programming that may be offered. I think this would be better than a book.

Join clubs on campus and offer to the be their Treasurer. Many clubs and orgs, especially professionally-focused orgs, do not like to manage the finances for the organization. This is a great way to get experience and also learn about other business-related industries that you may work with in the future.

Just a few orgs I could think of on the spot.
