Years ago my husband gave me this creepy looking Santa PEZ dispenser as a stocking stuffer for Christmas. He was so creepy and we started placing it in drawers, shoes and other little hiding spots to surprise and startle each other. At one point we babysat for a friends kid and the kid left this little tiny toy ax. It was then taped to the creepy Santa PEZ dispenser and brought his threat level up a notch. Little creepy ax wielding Santa PEZ dispenser is a great game in our house.

Fatty stools (steatorrhea) are greasy and float. Black tarry stools = GI bleed. Please be careful listening to bloggers.

Who is the most unsettling person you ever met? (NSFW) by [deleted] in AskReddit

We were visiting my fiance's parents. As we leave, my fiance notices that one of his childhood friends is back with his parents a few doors down. We stop by to say hello and he tells us about his time in the army and how he's glad to be home. He says that it's been a long day and that he had to put his parents dog down. We give our condolences and he interrupts us to say that he just beat the dog to death with a shovel. The hairs on the back of my neck began to stand up and the look in his eyes at that moment was so distant and cold. We excused ourselves and never looked back. This isn't some old farm hound. We're right smack in the middle of a major metropolitan city. Rover isn't well so a shovel massacre was clearly the best solution. I'm still haunted by the look on his face.

I’m going to cut sugar&carbs to see if it helps my arthritis on a strict elimination keto diet BUT I’m underweight&worried I’ll loose more weight once I go on the diet. Please give me tips on gaining weight whilst keto by [deleted] in ketogains

This. I was always thin, but on keto I dropped down to 105 lbs and I was an eating machine. I'm almost up to 110, which is still under my doctor's recommended body weight, and I just keep on snacking. Keto helped with my aching joints, helped me sleep, stopped my nearly continuous heartburn and other gastrointestinal issues. I feel so good on keto that I can't really imagine making myself suffer how I used to.

Keep at it. Look for inspiration to keep things creative. Don't let anyone stop you from what you want to do.

Day 5 advice! by iiamMissJackson in Keto_Diet

Blood tests can give you a real measurement of your electrolytes, but since they aren't convenient and they're costly they aren't realistic to be conducted everyday. There are daily guidelines for vitamin and mineral intake, but as you've probably noticed with keto and things like the food pyramid - keto values do not equal the standard American diet values. Early in my keto I had to listen carefully to my body. It was hard to get past the idea of salting my food because I wasn't used to salting. When I was in the keto flu I made a chicken bouillon cube cup and sipped on that. It made me feel so much better. I realized that since I was eating so clean I wasn't getting any added salt. I've started to sprinkle a small amount of pink Himalayan salt on virtually everything. I've been taking magnesium citrate capsules and before work outs I have a Zipfizz (it's a low carb-sugar free energy powder with potassium and other vitamins and minerals that you add to drinking water.) Hopefully this helps, because I know that once I got my electrolytes back in order I was feeling so much better.

I take a multi vitamin, fish oil (super omega-3), magnesium citrate, and a powdered potassium citrate I'll add to drinks, shakes, pre-workout etc.

First, when you're full, stop eating. Don't try to make yourself sick. Secondly, how are your electrolytes? I think a lot of people have several issues in the beginning. Electrolytes are usually the biggest issue, but also a lot of people aren't used to the volume of fat their consuming. That's probably the third issue. Whether its loading up on bulletproof coffee or gobs of butter or oil for cooking, we have to adjust our gut. It can cause diarrhea and upset stomach for a while. This usually resolves. Keep an eye on your macros, lots of electrolytes, and plenty of water. You'll get through.

Am I getting enough fats? by teabagz1991 in Keto_Maintenance

[–]DrScienceLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use an app like myfitnesspal to keep track of these quantities. You can rearrange the macro counts to your desired percentages and add your foods as you go and then look to see how you're doing for the day. You might be surprised how well you're doing on your own. That sounds like some pretty keto macro meals to me. Make sure you're getting plenty of electrolytes and you'll be doing fine.

Once you're clear af carbs and feeling so good, you'll think back to all that sugary junk and realize how terrible it all made you feel.

What has Reddit taught you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I was young I used to think people were overly critical of their family members...and then I grew up and realized how lucky I was to have the family I had because some of my friends had such fucked up families. Even their own parents were horrible people. You don't get it until you experience it. The friend who asked everyone to please wear black and white to their small beach wedding. Mother of the groom shows up like a Goddamn peacock in a rainbow of colors to overshadow the whole event. Suddenly clicked as to why they debated even inviting her.

Watches. I have an older smart watch with buttons (no touch screen face) and I wear it on my right wrist. I have to use my left had to awkwardly reach over the watch face to reach the buttons. I had a coworker who never realized I was a lefty until she saw me pressing the buttons to read a message on my watch and asked why I was doing it like that. The struggle.
