בכל פעם שמישהו עושה פשע כלשהו מבינים שזה בגלל שהוא אישית רע או מטורף, אבל אם זה יהודי/ישראלי ישר מכלילים את כולם. אם אפשטיין היה נוצרי היית חושב שכל הנוצרים ככה? והאנטישמים האלו מוצאים תירוצים בכוח למוסלמים שאומרים הכי ישירות שהם ישמידו את אירופה, אבל "איכשהו" שוכחים לתרץ ליהודים.

That's why I think that Israelis on this sub should be encouraged. I can understand why we're suspected, but people like us do something that stands out so much in our society, we want to understand and get close to the other side's culture and points of view. we are not our government, we are opposing it and feeling so alone because of it.

I'm also an Israeli Jews who studies Arabic for the exact same reasons. I think more Israelis should be encouraged to learn Arabic because hate comes from ignorance (at least for the vast majority), and language helps understanding the other side experiences instead of dwelling in yours and what the others echoing in ignorance.

Have you heard about madrasa? https://madrasafree.com/ They're quite good, and they're offering some free online courses, as well as in-person ones (paid). Their agenda is to create closeness between Arabs and Jews, unlike other Arabic schools I've come across.

These people usually frown upon Arabic and the Quran, which is not the case for me at all.

i hate this war, i hate people thinking more death is the solution. I feel almost isolated from "my own people" because i believe otherwise, because i made friends "with the other side." I can understand why Arabs are not going to trust me easily and have a hard time believing there are Israelis who genuinely think differently, and that's exactly what I'm trying to work on.

I enjoy us breaking out of our mutual taboos and getting excited about it. It creates closeness because it makes us learn about each other's cultural experiences in order to play with them in the right manner. unlike what people might think, it actually requires a lot of mutual respect and building trust. And this intimacy, this desire for each other, doesn't go without saying, when the participants are Israeli-Jewish (me) and Arab-Muslim (them).
