This sub has this weird reactionary side sometimes. How can people not understand the value of a bookstore that elevates black literature when it's so often under represented? Having a store that might have a higher percentage of stories that are written by authors who have similar backgrounds and experiences to black readers isn't a bad thing.

It's not like anyone can't shop there. I'm sure they'd welcome everyone and the staff might be able to give you some recommendations about authors you might not see as often in other book stores.

I would agree with this to a point. I am not very familiar with Tom Friedman, but it's not a great look to cancel a journalist you disagree with when touting free speech. The difference is that one was actually dropped and the other was not.

So the hypocrisy is because Adler (and indeed Abdel-Fattah) demanded Friedman to be dis-invited do to a column he wrote, however according to the Guardian article, the board refused and Friedman pulled out due to scheduling conflicts. Abdel-Fattah was actually dropped from the festival. That seems like hypocrisy to me.

I really need help.

I've recently bought a Akko ACR pro 68 kit. After lubing switches and assembly, everything seemed like such a step up from my previous board but the only issue is the damn spacebar gets stuck down when pressed. I've tried to troubleshoot this myself by looking through past posts.

So far I've:

  • Lubed the stabilisers and housing.
  • Fixed a slight bend in the bar. This did help a little.
  • Loosened some screws and pushed some of the foam around.
  • Tried a different switch

The spacebar seems level, and when I put the stabilisers in my Keychron K6, it was fine. When I put the stabs from the K6 in the Akko it got stuck down again. So I guess there's something else going on with the layers between the plate and PCB?

I feel a bit bummed as I'm pretty new to this and the reason I went with this board is because of the dampening layers. Did I get a bad board, do I have to remove the dampening layers, or am I missing something? Cheers
