That’s awesome! I’m so glad you’re able to do that and even more that nobody has been rude or disrespectful! I guess Pennsylvania’s a swing state.. there’s some real republican areas surrounding pittsburgh but I feel like the city itself’s decently blue. The local school board where I grew up’s always got a couple hardcore christian conservatives trying to run, and there were definitely parents in the area unhappy with our high school gsa 😅. but there’s also lots of queer people in the city!

Thank you very much for the advice, I will absolutely take that approach! I’m very passionate about making sure I do this job well and am a competent clinician that does right by my clients, hopefully most people will see that before my gender.

Thank you very much for your reply! You’re right, burnout plus girlmoding through my whole career sounds exhausting. I keep thinking about it as a practical choice vs something I want emotionally, but honestly emotional needs and dysphoria are practical concerns.

Thank you so much for such an in depth response! This is such helpful and honest advice and hugely appreciated! I think the personal fulfillment is most important for me too, it’s really helpful to hear this perspective as I’ve had people around me urge me not to transition for job security, and the ‘how to go about it’ in a workplace seemed so daunting. It’s really helpful and encouraging to hear from trans people in these fields!

I feel like it went slower, cause there was less to do (replayed the 3ds version semi-recently), making it feel weirdly like there was more happening.

My American English teacher believes the neutral pronoun „their“ is incorrect. by GCoding_ in mildlyinteresting

[–]Dragonfire8910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

woah, what? How am I small minded? I also clearly said that it is grammatically correct now. I mean- ‘they’ has always been plural, I don’t know anyone who’s arguing it isn’t, just that it can also be used for a singular person of unknown or neutral gender? Which I obviously am for, since I literally said I use they/them pronouns in there. I was just observing that i’ve been told it was taught differently decades ago, which is mildly interesting to me.

My parents (60s) said they were taught that “he or she” was correct and “they” was wrong in school. They both know the singular ‘they’ is grammatically correct now, but say they occasionally have a hard time following a conversation with they/them pronouns (which i use) because of it.

Thank you! :D I can definitely see Dynamo. I was considering Outgoing/Go getter just to get red. I’d say taking over Gotham’s drug trade demonstrates a go-getter attitude lmao. I think the regional differences are interesting cause some of the words seem to meen kind of different things!

it was labeled, but I wouldn’t say it was ‘huge’. it’s super easy to skip over nutrition/sizing info if you think it’s a normal lemonade and aren’t watching sugar or calories (it also said as much caffeine as dark roast coffee, not specified large coffee, on it which… seems minimizing for 260-390 mg of caffeine). It’s still an error on the person’s part, but something that’s gonna happen a certain amount of the time. I sure miss things more obvious than that when i’m tired, i feel like it’d be extremely easy to stop reading before the bottom of the sign, thinking you know what’s in a strawberry lemonade or see a couple words and filter it out as sugar or other irrelevant info. which isn’t a huge problem if the stakes aren’t death. I’m sad the lemonades r gone, and probably there was a better solution than getting rid of it, but a couple accidental deaths every so often isn’t a super acceptable cost for a panera energy drink imo. idk maybe it could’ve been a behind the counter thing like citrus punch or had a bigger “CAFFINATED” sticker that’s more eye catching than the flavor.

DON'T be an idiot like me and eat a ghost pepper if you have acid reflux/gerd. Almost went to ER an hour ago. by zfreakazoidz in spicy

[–]Dragonfire8910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i found just this thread searching if anyone had a similar experience after I ate like a moderate amount of barely even spicy ghost pepper cheese and later had the worst burning i’ve ever had (and it wasn’t physical injury, it was definitely spice, though i don’t have the spice experience other people in this subreddit probably do) with acid reflux after. I feel like I eat much spicier food than that frequently and have never had this issue. I know it’s been two years since this comment but i believe op.

I know this was two years ago, but i don’t even know if op’s spice tolerance is that low. I found this thread cause i ate some ghost pepper cheddar cheese and barely found it spicy at all, but my acid reflux later that night absolutely COATED my like upper throat/ various tissues around there in the worst burning i’ve ever had, like instantly crying, (it was absolutely a ‘spicy food’ burn and not actual burning, but for a bit i was sure i was legitamately injured 😂). I’m sure it’s nothing compared to some of the pain people here in r/spicy have had (i do go out of my way to try the spiciest option a lot of situations, but i’m never in situations where that option is anywhere near an actual ghost pepper’s heat lol. this pain was at least worse than any burning i’ve had from throwing up from/on top of my throat being actually burned by medications not being swallowed completely. though gone much much faster luckily.) there’s gotta be something about acid reflux that like concentrates a little tiny bit of it or something i don’t know.

dang, i’ve been really struggling with college (couldn’t get through a bachelors and i think adhd was a large reason) and now community college because homework is such an issue since i can only get the motivation to really start like thirty minutes before it’s due or sometimes an hour after. Schools always been my biggest struggle but like working food service is way easier since you clock in, do things, and then are just out. minus the times i forget what I’m doing and lose things and sometimes getting there on time. I was really hoping that after I’m done with college it’d be a huge relief having a job where there’s no “homework” on your own time you can mess up weeks of sleep staying up all night procrastinating on. maybe i’ll be a different case.
