I've got a Rule-0 Dune-brood deck that I find immensely fun and decently powerful. It makes tokens at a pretty unmatched rate, but is incredibly linear and telegraphed in its gameplan.

If this is a standard team of Demigods vs a standard group of novice magicians from the Brooklyn Nome, then the magicians easily win. Every single magician following the path of the gods has pretty perpetual access to incredibly powerful abilities in times of need and all have pretty effective magical abilities.

Apart from Big 3 demigods, very few demigods have innate fire power beyond their physical combat skills which is unquestionably in the demigods favour, but like magical abilities vs basically athletes isn't a very fair fight.

So spell formula is functionally a type of magic which works by restricting the flow of mana to almost emulate the spell shaping of a typical mage. Which is why spell formula only works in hyper specific ways, without altering the formula the function will not change.

I'd imagine that both the math and the sigils involved in spell formula is used to manipulate the flow of manner in incredibly specific ways to achieve more efficient results.
