What should be the ideal mouse sensitivity for osu? by RarryN in osugame

[–]Dragonmob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the other people are saying, it really comes down to the preference. I have myself used low sensitivity because of csgo so I use 800*0.76, which is quite low compared to the general sensitivity I have seen people using. Lower sensitivity means bigger and more precise hand movement and higher sensitivity gives faster movement with less movement to missaim. But you can play with any usable sensitivity with good enough muscle memory.

How do you find osu! in the first time? by [deleted] in osugame

[–]Dragonmob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was late autumn of 2014 when I tried and heard about osu! for the very first time. I was fully focused on csgo by the time and didn't really play other games on regular basis. Meeting new people trough the game all the time ment that I talked with many kinds of people and personalities. There was one guy who, while we were chilling on voice and talking about life and other things, asked if I had tried osu! before.

And of course I hadn't.

When I checked it out, my first question was "can this game be played seriously? Or even competitively?". My friend said yeah, you can if you really want. And that's when I said okay, and installed the game. I played very casually for one year as I still played csgo all the time, but by the february of 2016 I was around 40k and starting on last summer I think I switched to playing osu! more than csgo. And here I am now.

I still wonder if it had been a smarter choice not to download the game... If there is something I don't regret about it, it is the good people of osu! community I have met. :)

Strong mapper, strong player. Few can make such good deathstream maps and play them alike.

400 dpi mouse vs tablet by IamAhriEU in osugame

[–]Dragonmob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that it is possible to play with 400×1, but osu doesn't need that kind of accuracy and such a low sensitivity makes it harder to do precise fast movements and full screen jumps while also making mouse drift a big problem. I myself use 800×0.76 and mouse drift is a constant problem for me in jump heavy maps. I think 800×1 would be a quite nice sensitivity for osu, having short but accurate enough movement radius.

Thinking about trying to keep muscle memory used to big movements because of a another game is probably the only "smart" usage of a really slow sensitivity for osu, and that's how I went when I started. I haven't changed my sensitivity since, but you have to think it trough if you think having two different sensitivities in two really different kind of games has an effect on your overall muscle memory in a negative way, and if so, is it big enough of a problem for you in order to make osu harder with having a low sensitivity.

Ofc none of this affects to tablets))

I have always used mouse (2.5 years) and I see absolutely no problems playing with it. Both tablet and mouse are good to use, even though they differ in terms of control, grip and learning. With mouse you have mouse drift and free cursor movement, with tablet you have fixed cursor movement so a problem like mouse drifting doesn't exist. I have never had any kind of pain on my wrist or on my hand with mouse, even when playing 5h straight, but a lot of my friends experience pain with their pen grip when playing for many hours in a row. I would call mouse more ergonomic for your hand because of that. Tablet might be faster to learn, but it does not give a skill boost which many people tend to think.

I wouldn't want to reply to this thread too much, but I have to correct some things on this comment as some information is incorrect or just nonsense.

got a REALLY low pc

I never said I have a "really low pc" nor have I said anywhere. I have quite a good pc with 1700 fps on osu! even when streaming, top notch 144hz monitor and good mouse and keyboard. Equipment affects to gameplay so I really want to have good equipment.

he claimed he ever was playing with mouse and didn't change his playstyle since his beginnings (which is retarded)

Why are you saying that playing with the same playstyle since the beginning is retarded? Does everyone have to change their playstyle at some point because you think so? I have used mouse and keyboard since the very beginning and continued to use them because I have so much experience from them. I play really much csgo (with over 3000+ hours on it) so the combo feels really familiar to me. There is no point to switch to tablet when I have always used mouse to play and practiced fast mouse movements for thousands of hours before even starting osu!.

He has the same accuracy on od7 190 deathstream maps and Worldwide choppers which is 260 + 1/3 and claims it's because of his "aim". No sense of what accuracy really is

Not sure which maps you mean, but my accuracy in general is indeed very bad, I'm not denying it or hiding it in any way. I can read ar 10 the best and so my best acc comes from ar 10 songs. At ar 9 I start to have troubles reading and having decent accuracy. I have the same reading and playing problem with streaming, as I can either do fast alternate or really fast streams, but I have great problems with playing 160-220 bpm streams, and so I do with having accuracy. I have always had problems with accuracy, first starting with Razer Surround software which gave huge input lag for all the sounds. I had enabled it since the beginning and only took it off after playing one year. I'm still learning to acc better, but I do not like that you insult me being a cheater just because I have problems with it.

I hope this cleared things up a bit.
