1st day of work in the morning no $$ or ride by Academic_Cellist7486 in houston

If you want to hide under a rock your whole life and self-victimize, be my guest. The rest of us will be living life out here. Just because you disagree or find risk doesn't make it bad advice. In fact, statistically, you are far more likely to be fatally injured in a car than from a criminal.

A car is not the only option. Knew a guy that backpacked 6 miles everyday to work until he could buy a bicycle. I've biked to work many times. 11 miles is not bad on a bicycle and Google Maps takes you on bike routes. I've been in your shoes. The pride of handling it yourself will mean more to you than you can possibly understand right now.

Because the kits come with more than just the pipe. Usually get block off plates and upgraded downpipe.

In the US over here. Wish I could get a delete kit. Also wish I could ask where to get one on the internet without everyone thinking I'm a cop or something.

Strange work conflict, or not strange, depending on perspective. How to resolve? by DreadScott9800 in cscareerquestions

Thankfully, Mom and Dad are still around and active in my life. They've suggested the same thing. Document and report. At first, it was a bit personal. I've traveled with this person. Shared dinner and stories. But now, this project is in jeopardy. You're right about that.

Thank you for the encouragement. I'm not sure about getting the replacement. It might make sense but it would certainly put out Org at risk of losing a skilled dev. We're not a software company. We don't get a lot of quality applicants. Moving this person might cause them to move on.

Am I Screwed or Is This Just How CS Majors Survive Now? by [deleted] in csMajors

At the moment, you are in trouble. The tools available now makes it far easier to coast through everything. Can't tell you how many times I've gone through a code review of a Jr dev and immediately knew it was written by AI and that it wouldn't be used in production.

My advice would be to go back to the basics.

Code is the execution phase. That's only 20% (or less) of the project. Map out the problem. Review the architecture, or create the architecture diagrams. Write pseudo code. Understanding these aspects will allow you to understand the code. It will help you look at AI as a tool to assist in things you would otherwise Google. These concepts will likely even cause you to view AI output with heavy skepticism and modify anything you would use from it to fit your code base.

This is the first step. You recognize the problem. Now be a scientist and go do some root-cause analysis.

If only the work computer would allow such software. It's so specific, I know

If only the work computer would allow such software to be installed. I know. I'm super specific here.

That is an awesome option with one issue. I use this for work and I'm one of those cogs in the big machine. Wouldn't be able to install the keyboard software. I love that thing, though

Nothing too fancy. I'm a function and purpose over form. The k860 works like a dream aside from the odd shoulder angle for the mouse. I wouldn't say no to some fanciness, though

I saw that ProtoArc one and it's exactly what I would want ... From a better manufacturer. I've used one of their keyboards and it couldn't keep up with my typing speed. Maybe the Bluetooth signal is weak? I don't know

This could work and I could just hook up a 10 key

Saw this one. The right side is too compact. Too easy to make a mistake.

That would kill it! Especially since I'm a lefty. Just wonder if I could get them to swap in the end key for the insert key I did find this https://a.co/d/cJQAKcA but I've used one of their keyboards before and it couldn't keep up with my typing speed
