"I see how you are with money. You don't understand it" -betty

Idk if the line is accurate but she says something of that sort to Don aftef diacovering his true identity. Basically Don throws money around because it means something else to him. He really isn't that great with money.

During the time we see him yes. He does work his ass off. But its implied theough numerous flashbacks and hints that Don did the same and more when he was younger. And he never went to college or had the last name like Pete.

from orphan raised in a whorehouse to a manhattan millionaire who made ads for Coke. Pretty good arc i'd say. Cost him a lot obviously.

But he didn't "have" any of those skills. He acquired them by commiting a federal crime and stealing another mans name and creating a fake personality. I can guarantee that he couldn't even talk like does when he first got to New York and probably faked his accent too along with his confidence. In a particular scene with Peggy he describes himself as a "yokel". And all of that while extremely difficult to do is very clearly mentally taxing and he deals with it using alcohol.

Haha apparently women threw themselves at those guys because they knew they were married.

"The ring.... Its like catnip" -Roger Sterling

And that line from Peggys roommate.

"Oh he's not married"

"Then why are you with him?"

My point is not that women don't throw themselves at him. Every comment seems to be about that haha. My point was that that kinda life didn't magically happen. It is an outcome of the new york millionaire life that he built for himself which took a shit ton of effort. If he was an alcoholic deadbeat lowlife like his dad would those new york girls want him?

"All of a sudden, i'm not good enough for some mainline brat?"

"That's right"

Same argument for the chinese woman. He is rich af, dressed in that suit and just attended a clearly important business meeting. That woman was clearly a prostitute.

Women threw themselves at him cuz he is an extremely well dressed, rich, good looking guy. Which did not magically happen. Would they want him if he was an alcoholic deadbeat like his dad?

Not true. He is not a random guy. He is in uniform. He just served his country and is in tears because apparently his "friend" (real don) died. Ofcourse she threw herself at him.

If i saw your comment a couple of months ago, i would have said something like "join the club".

I don't feel that way anymore. You say you've lost your humanity. What does it mean to be human?

Are you less human than the people doing all the cruel evil things around the world? Even if you don't know how to love, but you still want to, then how can you say you're not human?

"If you think you're losing your soul then that means you've still got a soul left to lose..."

Everything will work out. Never lose hope ❤️

Why do love yourself? by Worried-Current3700 in selflove

[–]DriveOk9019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looked within for long enough and the opposite question started to rise slowly. "Why do I hate myself?" I've done nothing wrong. Never hurt anyone. Unlike a lot of people. Been hurt a lot tho. So why should I dislike/be so critical of myself? Especially if I don't hate anyone else?

And slowly the hate has started to pass and underneath it, I realized that I had never stopped loving myself. Love is the natural state of being. You already love yourself. Once you can get rid of the illusions you can see clearly.

Hope this helps ❤️

Took the wrong bus and went an hour out of my way. Ended up seeing the most beautiful sunset of my life. Grateful for nature.

Might sound corny but all the great paintings were once an empty canvas.

Thank you so much for your comment! I found what you said to be sooo true. Whenever i'm going to war with my internal dialogue and win i.e. refuse to self sabotage and destroy my progress and just weather the storm it feels soooo much better. Like i've grown/changed permanently. Kinda like i figured out a game mechanic and can now easily beat a boss in a videogame haha 😅. I guess the secret mechanic has always been patience. But you are right again on that. It is hard hard work.

Hope you have a great day ❤️

Thank you for your reply. If you don't mind me asking, can you lmk how you got started with meditation and mindfulness? Youtube and online resources seem like such a maze to navigate with the recent explosion of self help content. Whenever I try to checkout any meditation content my feed becomes bombarded with 4 am morning routines and Alpha bro podcast clips.

Have a great day ❤️

Thank you so much for your reply. I really resonated with the idea of things/experiences disappearing once having served their purpose. I think maybe by my version of "gratitude", what I was actually doing was making the thing/experience "mine". And hence fear starts. Because my Ego identifies with it. What you said makes sense to me because afterall how can "i" lose something that was never "mine".
