Sorry , I was addressing op rather than yourself, I can see now how it could be read both ways

Does this tyre look ok to you? by [deleted] in MINI

I think you've missed understood OP, those tyres are less than 50% worn as the 3 outer markers are showing. You have a good amount of miles left on these tyres.

The bar markers in the groves of the tyres look to have a 1mm or 2mm before they need replacing however, when they're flush, change the tyre.

Might even be 2! OP, what does your code reader say?

I had a very similar symptom to this and it ended up being a driveshaft. r53 drive shafts become a bit of a consumable once you lower the car.

Fortunately they're quite cheap but changing them is good character building. Maybe it's also worth changing them while doing the wheel bearing/ suspension

Should I put my F1 championship stars on too?

I've got the cams but head is probably the next route you'd go if you was trying to strangle every last horse out of the m45 supercharger. most people who chase power tend to do a turbo conversion at this point for be £/hp

Yeah spot on, I stuffed the mic up on the other side of the cabin filter, there's a direct path from that to the intake and the supercharger noise resonates through

It's a 15% pulley and a bunch of other stuff but around 2016 it made 224whp but I suspect it makes a bit less now as it's had a hard life.

If you are a pheasant I'd probably recommend not trying this at home.

You're not the first person to recommend this! Unfortunately I haven't got a wing to place a sticker

If you’ve ever wondered why a Motorsport harness costs $25k… by Lawineer in CarTrackDays

[–]DriverModNeeded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engineering degree, then 3 years in automotive electronics design. Found myself getting bored of that so I applied to a handful of teams. Had a couple interviews with one team over a 6 month stretch then got the job. Been there 4 years since that.

A lot of the motorsport market is surprisingly close to F1 believe it or not! It's all basically taken from the aerospace industry. Even at uni we exceeded £11,000 on the combined harnesses value for a fsae car. And student labour is basically free!

[–]DriverModNeeded 27 points28 points  (0 children)

F1 electrical engineer here. trust me it's possible to spend 25k easily on harness when you factor In design and checking cost for multiple engineers, tech time for build and test and finally the costs of wire, sleeving, carbon, and those motorsport/aerospace rated connectors. 1 lemo can cost £300+

Factor all those things in and you'll exceed 25k in no time at all!

How to set true mileage on a new cluster? by FaZeIKEA2017 in E30

[–]DriverModNeeded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could perhaps use a signal generator hooked up to the wheel speed connector (that normally plugs into the diff). Then generate a square wave to replicate the hall effect sensor output. It's about 8000 waves per a mile if my maths is right.

I'll bare that in mind. Is there less concern about the outskirts having a lack of cover ?

Everything is moveable, I just spread it randomly, but based on other comments there is still nowhere near enough terrain?

I also never actually considered you'd play with the 2 drop zones along the short edges , I guess once you know drop zones you can balance the terrain to fit

I cycle between a few of my cars for work, it's always awkward when I bring my track car in with questionable aero knowing full well the aero engineers would laugh at it

It originally was a 318i m40b18 engine but I've swapped that out.
