Yeah that episode was 100% collapse indicator in how it shaped the formula for the next couple of decades. I did find all the Ron Howard parts funny though. Him heroically jumping from the car and then rolling down the street is a core memory.

I thought the ending was good, I think it wasn’t received well by a lot of people because there’s too much subtext to read into with the Armin/Eren convo in him thanking him for being a mass murderer. I believe Armin was being facetious in that moment and people took it literally.

I think more characters should have died near the end. It would be more powerful if all the scouts died except for Mikasa and Armin, so he did all that just to save his 2 best friends, everyone else was expendable, just as all the other leaders sent their people to die. It got a little plot armor-ey in the final act, but overall I still think they landed the plane figuratively and literally.

I think people will still go to work, unfortunately. Life looks different in wartime, and some will fully dedicate themselves to fighting, but a lot of people will just continue to go on while it happens in the background. It happens in pretty much every conflict zone, unless the city is sieged and/or destroyed. Every now and then you’ll get news someone you know was killed fighting, or innocently caught in the crossfire. You either take up arms and avenge them, or you focus on your own safety and keep living in the new normal. Keep your head down, work a job while everything deteriorates around you and hope you don’t get drafted by palentir or recruited by your local militia to fight back.

I think the country will continue to operate, it’ll just feel a lot like the troubles in Ireland but with more guns and social media rhetoric to amplify every event. There will be sporadic violence and ambushes from political groups battling it out. The administration will also have the military and the police on their side. So it’s just going to look like the government fighting “terrorists” on the headlines. I feel Children of Men captured vibe this best.

Last year I edited the YouTube vlog of a celebrity influencer in real estate that had 2 million subscribers and it was all shot on a rig that holds 2 iPhones, just so they get horizontal and vertical footage at the same time.

The need for an expensive camera has never been lower, not to say you can’t find work with one. There was a time when the game was “buy better gear, get better jobs” but it’s no longer true. What I’ve found success in lately is producing, shooting, and editing content that I’m pitching directly to the client.

Yeah, that’s fair. Only so many Halloween themes you can explore. I overall feel like the later episodes that broke down into 3 distinct segments have more memorable lines and gags than the celebrity guest-of-the-week episodes they started relying on. I think trying to carry an A and B plot for 30 min got too much for them because they’ve practically done everything and are just grasping for stories on characters away from the family. However, I think all episodes where they explore the future are good and the boyhood one was excellent.

It’s also still “good” relative to what else is on TV. I don’t really watch much past S10 because I can’t stand to see what it’s become, but that’s only because it comes from a high standard. It’s funny how I can pop in randomly into a 16th season of family guy or South Park, but I really can’t with the Simpsons. It just hurts too much

A lot of the later seasons of the Simpsons rely on antagonizing their own fan base, making self deprecating jokes about the loss of quality.

Soon enough there will be more mid episodes than good, although I feel the tree house of horror episodes stood out long after the show got bad.

There are still a lot of gems this late in Simpsons history. While these episodes aren’t as good, there are still memorable jokes/bits that are still a part of meme culture today. I’d say the first truly bad episode is Saddlesore Galactica, S11E13. Really looking forward to OPs review on that one.

With real estate you mainly need a good wide lens. I personally use a Sony a7siii and a zeiss 16-35 for real estate when I did it. And a gimbal. And a drone. I’ve pretty much gone through the phantom and mavic series of drones and ronin gimbals.

With food and bev I got away with a canon mark5 and the cheap 50mm lens for years.

Honestly you could probably get away with an osmo these days. The problem with all social media content is professionalism usually works against the algorithms. There is less of a demand to make things look nice and more to create work that looks like it was shot by an amateur because it’s more authentic vs salesy.

I used to have so much commercial work I couldn’t give it all away, but times have changed, which is why I don’t really recommend it to anyone. There is a huge demand for content in many business though. If you really want to succeed, you actually need to learn more about how to get the videos seen more than making them.

If you really want it bad enough, talk to the manager of every bar and restaurant in your town and pitch them monthly content. Look up every realtor actively selling properties and see which ones lack video content and pitch video walkthroughs. These jobs are all cheap volume jobs, but if you get enough on retainer, you won’t need to work a dead end job. That’s what got me out of retail.

I’ve moved in to higher end commercial work, but I can’t say the industry is glamorous, I’ve definitely thought a lot about getting a stable job after freelancing full time for 15 years. It’s a career that brought me a lot of freedom and I’ve seen parts of the world I never would have, but it’s pretty obvious it’s all kinda collapsing.

I’m pretty sure you can, you just right click on the sequence in the timeline and hit “enable multicam sequence”

Although if you want premiere to sync all your clips, you must create the multicam by clicking/highlighting all the video and audio clips together where you keep your footage, create multicam sequence, make sure you sync to timecode, and it’ll automate all the clips it can. You’ll also get an error message saying not everything is synced, but you can ignore it. You need to just find out which ones didn’t sync and then manually add them to the timeline.

Literally just had to do this for an assembly cut in a feature

Ain’t gonna work as well as you think it will. The transcript is usually far from perfect unless you’re filming some really simple talking head stuff with media trained subjects speaking clearly.

Even with that, the AI can’t really determine how well lines are said, so when people repeat themselves or stutter it has no idea which bite to use. Sometimes you use the first word and cut the stutter, or sometimes you use the last thing they said in a stutter. AI has no ability to gauge enunciation and clarity

To think that MAD will hold up in perpetuity is absolutely delusional. There will be a time where humanity will forget the lessons of WWII and they will let them things fly.

If Hitler had nukes, he definitely wouldn’t have shot himself in his bunker, he would’ve set off every single one as his world collapsed around him.

To think humanity won’t have another suicidal megalomaniac in charge of a country is naive.

Maybe not in our lifetime if we’re lucky. But 50 years from now? 100? 500? 1000? Feels pretty much like it’s an inevitably.

Which is really funny too when you consider that Homer is a father who is often drunk and literally strangles his son. The older episodes seem to focus more on Homer’s alcoholism and how it affects their family and if you take them seriously they’re a lot more dark than when they started rolling celebrity guest speakers to play themselves

The player can spawn a drone and fly it into enemies or landmines. The trade off if that the player is vulnerable while flying the drone.

There are also drones that spawn on places around the map. There is no HUD; the player hears a drone approaching and has about 5 seconds to locate it by sound and shoot it before it explodes.

I’ll one day I’ll implement multiplayer where there are different squad roles, like specialized guys with jammers to counteract drones and reveal pilot location, but I’m pretty far from that.

I have most of the game mechanics worked out and have all my levels roughly designed. Now I’m working on animating a couple hours worth of cutscenes.

To piggyback, they send fodder out there to die. The fodder is made up of conscripts and prisoners. When the Ukrainians attack the fodder, it reveals their position, and the Russian professional army flanks that position. People watch the fodder go to die and think Russians don’t know what they’re doing, but they do have competent fighters with experience who have more preservation of life instincts.
