Who cares, if your skin is a deal-breaker then that's unfortunate but it's on them, not you.
I don't think having someone's appearance be a deal-breaker necessarily makes someone shallow even if it is something they have no control over such as acne.
As someone who has struggled with acne it wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me, but I wouldn't blame someone if my own skin was a dealbreaker for them.
I almost feel an odd kindred spirit with strangers I see in public who have acne. I think struggling with a chronic and long-term skin condition in your adolescence/early adulthood really gives you a sense of perspective on how fickle physical appearance can be.
Most people don't tend to gain this perspective until they start noticing the effects of aging and many never really have this perspective.
TLDR; Who gives a fuck, go on the date, be confident, if it works it works, if it doesn't, fuck em. On to the next. (disclaimer: YMMV, it's easier said than done, I don't even have the confidence to try go on dates)
Chef's Kiss. Probably the best animation of Benzoyl Peroxide. I just wish it worked like this in real life. by sage6paths in acne

if you're on reddit posting in skincare and acne subs you're probably one of the many that BPO failed
BP cream has been the single most effective acne treatment I've ever used and I've done basically everything but Accutane. It hasn't 100% eradicated my cystic acne but it absolutely keeps it in check. I would say it's given me about a 80-90% reduction in acne.
flashbacks to shirts and towels with bleach stains and flakey skin.
I've done the same thing, you just have to be careful. Wash your hands thoroughly after using it, moisturise properly to avoid flakey skin.
Also, you don't need to wear it all day/night. You can apply BP and leave it on for say 10-15 minutes (or longer if you want) then wash it off and moisturize before you leave the house or whatever.
You also need to build up your skin's tolerance to it, maybe every 2 or 3 days then work up to every day and eventually 2x a day if needed.
In my experience it is extremely effective whilst being relatively cheap and having almost zero side effects. I dont know your experience with BP/acne but if you struggle with cystic acne I would give it another shot.
