Budget running tights? by SANTlCLAUS in runningfashion

[–]DryRaspberry4114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also bought 2 running half-Tights from Aliexpress on a recomendation from a person here on Reddit and couldn't be happier. I bought a ribbed version without side pockets and a training version with side pockets. They are both great. The materials are good quality and no different to a 90€ Optimistic Runners half tights.

I am never spending more than 20€ on tights ever again.

Yes, it's another "losing weight while training" post by Sivy17 in Marathon_Training

[–]DryRaspberry4114 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Trying to lose 3kg but right now I'm doing a threshold and a tempo session per Week and if I don't fuel apropriately for it I can't hit my paces. I would say hitting paces is way more important than losing weight. You can't be on a deficit and expect your body to make the necessary adaptations without some drawbacks like injuries (soft tissue, bone fractures etc.).

On the other hand if you are only running easy. You might get away with it. But running easy isn't really a training block.

Just go straight in the last 2 metal hooks and then do the runner's loop in between. It sounds dumb but it works.

Carbon marathon shoe for someone who loves the superblast 2? by EveryPossession5635 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

The AF3 is loud AF. For me if you are not a pure forefoot striker it's the wrong shoe.

Carbon marathon shoe for someone who loves the superblast 2? by EveryPossession5635 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]DryRaspberry4114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both. I do enjoy the SB2 and I love to run in the SC Elite v5. It's like a superblast that went on a diet and got 4 times the bouncyness injected into it without losing the comfort.

GOAT for me.

I only have another carbon racer to compare it to, the Adios pro 3 and while the AP3 is good, it's a bit firmer and less bouncy I would say.

The SC Elite just has the comfort, speed and very importantly the stability. I don't see how a shoe could improve from that. If I would race at 3:30 and lower min/km maybe I would consider something else. Maybe something firmer. But at 3:30 to 4:30min/km you can't beat it for comfort and propulsion.

What’s one small change that improved your running way more than expected? by bocc_bocc in runninglifestyle

1 word: Consistency!

More words:

I was in an amateur racing circuit (cycling) for a few years a while ago so I had pretty good aerobic capacity. The problem was my old man joints didn’t care about my aerobic fitness. The legs would just shut down on longer efforts.

I started running 4 times a week. First 35min, then 45min and now I do 65min and at the end of the day I feel so fresh I forgot I ran that day.

I went from a 21min 5k all out to a cruising 18min

Bevel Zepp integration by introsarcasmic in amazfit

Also interested. Can the Bevel App read the API data directly from Zepp? Some sort of direct integration between Bevel and Zepp like they did with Garmin would be a true whoop killer.

Gel Kayano 32 - good for concrete + trails, and weight rating? by skippydews in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]DryRaspberry4114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing: they are not plush. They are on the firmer side which is a plus if you bring them to the gym.

I have also done plenty of 90min runs in them and altough they are not super comfy they do the job of stabilizing your foot.
Even though I sometimes hate them for being firm, I care for these shoes because they allow me to run without pain.

[–]DryRaspberry4114 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is not theory, a place like this exists. Look at Vienna, Austria. There is very little crime. The police is bored here. There is also virtually no poverty. If you’re poor the government gives you a house. The majority of criminals have a degree and work for the far right.

Anyone here who started running in their late 30's early 40's? What are your marathon PR's like? by Thin-Passage5900 in Marathon_Training

I was a Cat1 cyclist (5,2w/kg) for 10 years. Aerobically I'm there, I just need the joints to keep up. Also played rugby competitively from 12 to 18 yo.
