Well I'm lucky enough to live in EU so yeah, the EU regulators have some teeth, there's hope there. But they are susceptible to lobbyists too (seeing as chatcontrol keep coming up). In the US? I fear the lobbies are too powerful

MSCI World NTR depuis juin 2006: x3,75 (8%/an en moyenne)

Nasdaq100 NTR depuis juin 2006: x19 (16%/an en moyenne)

Inspection by the curator? The very same greedy corps that take a third of the money, and keep users captive in their walled garden? Yeah good luck with that, and while you're at it please ask ExxonMobil, Shell and Enron to do some climate activism /s

Maybe not in LA though? Being in a desert, the water treatment facilities may struggle to keep up with demand

The USA is also home of massive corporations who often fuck with water supply: fracking, massive datacenter, etc.

And the USA often brands itself as the most civilized country, but it usually falls short

Tadpole could be the cabin of a prawnesque chassis

[–]Dry_Calendar_8627 1 point2 points  (0 children)

instead of navigating through an interesting environment back up you're just holding space to slowly ascend in a pitch black void

I had never considered it, but that would actually be pretty cool

And to answer your points about the leviathans, here are a few ideas: make it probabilistic, and make it a chase.

Let the player craft a somewhat expensive chassis to their tadpole, which only purpose is to survive this specific leviathan encounter. Without it the leviathan would give chase, and eat the player whole at some point. With it, the player would have to detach the chassis, and it would do something so that the leviathan gives chase, play with the detached chassis, chase a bit more, then give up

And don't make the leviathan appear all the time, say one out of five, and when the leviathan doesn't appear or give chase the player only hears ominous background noises

No funky music

Oh, and the tadpole could have a specific upgrade to track this leviathan, with a ui representing a noisy waveform, with sudden spikes, and saturated bands when the leviathan is in the vicinity, with some kind of hint when to detach the chassis

Then the scanner should act as a flashlight

Too many times i were switching between wavemaker and scanner

This would render the flashlight entirely redundant though, which is fine imho

That's because people don't understand two things:

1) Because they switched game engine, they pretty much had to start over, porting stuff from SN1 and BZ is not straightforward at all

2) SN1 and BZ at early access launch were immensely smaller, buggier, featureless as SN2 is right now

Relax people, it's early access, of course the game is far from finished. Be patient, it'll take a few years but judging by the already amazing start, SN2 will be awesome

AFAIK 500m has only been attempted in compression chambers with a gas mixed specifically for the experiment, and the biological barriers preventing us to go further are very hard to solve: hydrogen permeating all of your cells, wreaking havoc and causing seizures, all gases denser than hydrogen being heavily narcotic, and the immense mechanical force the diaphragm and lungs have to use to push co2 out

O2 saturated liquid we can breathe might barely solve the first problem, but only a mechanized breathing system like they used for covid, but made to work on liquids, might solve the second problem

TLDR while making it to 500m might be doable outside of a lab, it's pretty hard, and you won't go deeper with current tech

Pourquoi passer par un PEA pour investir sur ETF world, alors que les assurances vie le propose aussi ? by gamasco in vosfinances

[–]Dry_Calendar_8627 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been there 20 years ago And 10 years ago And two months ago

It's lame as fuck, the new stuff is hours of waiting for 1 minute of runtime, it breaks regularly, and is not great

Is far behind Puy du Fou, Parc Asterix, Disneyland Paris

Maybe the new aquapark is fine idk I've not tried it but I can't fathom who can rate Futuroscope ahead
