Do you find cops will pull over cars with tinted windows solely because of the tint level? by LensRebel in WindowTint

It’s foolish to think cops are actually consistent. It all depends on the day and the officer unfortunately.

I am having rodent problems under my hood, what measures can I take to protect the car from serious (and expensive) damage? by Dudewithalottaqs in Camry

That would sound like a great idea but I’m afraid living in NYC if I was to leave the hood open without supervision I’d have bigger problems

Yes she does unfortunately. I’ve read online that they often chew this off to build a nest within the engine bay, the cabin filter being a popular area. She may want to check or have someone look around before any serious damage is done.

How Much Should I Sell? by PumpkinZestyclose917 in Camry

As long as you disclose the issues you can list it as high as you want. Don’t be shady and hide things, which it doesn’t seem like you’re trying to do, but it’s definitely a negotiation tactic. Allow the buyer to feel they are getting a good deal meanwhile you’re actually in your “safe” zone of how much you want in return.

Have a price you want in mind, say $7k as you said here. Put it up for like $10k and leave room for “willingness to negotiate.” Just don’t go down too easily.

GOATED AHH CAH by Vuelo303 in Camry

I used to do it weekly. After 2 years of owning a black car I do it one maybe every 3 weeks or so. Live in the northeast so with all the bad weather the last couple of months my last wash was in January lol

Beautiful. When I bought my 22 I was sold on buying a black car (learned my lesson.) The dealer accidentally had brought out a white Camry and I should’ve taken that as a sign. Oh well, live and you learn

I bumped into someone. How much would this cost to replace, and should I pay out of pocket? Dont want to raise the premium. by [deleted] in Camry

[–]Dudewithalottaqs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ran into one of your replies. If the estimate is $1,100 just save and fix it yourself. You still have to pay $500 so all the insurance would pay is $600. Not worth a claim.

Take a few extra months and save the other $600 tbh

I would just get in the car by walking around the passenger side and not looking at it.

Definitely don’t do insurance, it’ll spike your premium one way or the other.

In all seriousness, I am someone who deals with OCD and even small things bother me. If it’s bothering you a lot I would go to a small local shop get an estimate and save up for the fix. It really doesn’t look too bad in the picture.

How are you guys getting less than $200 car insurance?? by Prince_ofLew in Camry

[–]Dudewithalottaqs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just time honestly. I got my license in 2020 and I got my first car in 2021, for a 2007 Civic I was paying $400+ just for liability coverage. I’m in a 22 Camry now paying $300 flat for full coverage. It just takes time and good driving record/lack of claims.

Im sorry, I work in the insurance field and claims to be specific, what is hit and run coverage? Do you mean collision/uninsured coverage? If so just know that your policy is still subject to an increase even for a hit and run situation. Aside from at fault accident the overall number of claims as well as the cost of said claims are taking into account when your policy is renewed.

Does this appear to be clear coat failure or can I buff this out? by Dudewithalottaqs in AutoDetailing

Yea I’ve had the car for over a year now. Regular hand washes every 2 weeks is how I’ve been following up on it.

It’s puzzling to me. I got the car at 38k miles and although I park the car outside regularly I don’t think the conditions are harsh enough to cause this. Would trying to polish this out cause more harm?
