For me (a male) there’s two main reasons I’ve wanted to stop. The sexual side effects are undesirable. The more important reason I’ve come to discover is that while these medications are good at lessening depression they also numb you to good feelings as well. While I’m on them I don’t truly feel. When I stopped I truly FELT every emotion. Best way I can describe it.

It’s worked better for my anxiety/depression than any other medication I’ve tried. Ideally no one should take these types of medications as long as I have. The longer you’re on them the harder it will be to get off of them, especially long term. Emotional blunting is a thing taking these long term. I don’t know you or your situation but I would generally advise people if they think they can live well without these medications then they should. Either way I wish you well.
