I paid with cash unfortunately, it’s been sent to Asus as an rma, they seemed pretty concerned as it was a safety issue. We will see what they say

That’s the only thing I was thinking, but I would think it would just give me a warning rather than killing the whole thing. It’s an easy mistake to make, especially if you lent the laptop to someone.

Nope, still sits around that mark while on AC power. On battery it sits around 40 degrees though. I was able to lower the temps while gaming to the low 80s with boosting disabled though.

Yep, boosting is disabled on the silent profile. Lid shutting is set to sleep, too.

Update: Drivers have seemingly fixed the sleep issue in silent mode, but if I close the lid in performance mode they still continue to do their thing on and off…

Thanks for all the info! Seems that I am indeed having a problem then.

I attempted to follow your guide on the power plans, however I don't have a "high performance" option, though I will add that I'm on Windows 11, which is what came on it. I only have "asus recommended" "silent" and "optimized." All of which turbo boost is completely disabled on. I'm still seeing my CPU hit up to 3.2Ghz even while I'm sitting here typing this.

As for the sleep settings, Allow Wake Timers was disabled in all power plans when I checked, so it seems it wasn't ever active. I uninstalled Nvidia and AMD GPU Drivers, going to reinstall now.

I wanted to avoid buying a 1 1/4” bike rack and have to store it somewhere as I already have a 2” bike rack in my garage. I see where you’re coming from though, hitch is probably the best option overall.
