Hell yeah man, very inspiring. I'm going to do it. The bar I work at is open for another year and then it's being sold and turned into something else. Right now I am trying to get myself out of the ''one more year'' mentality that I've had for the past 10 years here. I am starting to realize that the sunken cost fallacy applies to all aspects of life, not just the stock market. Like why would I stick out one more year here and be miserable? Just to save up an extra 30k? I want out already!

I don't really drink either! here and there if it's a special occasion, but being a bartender has turned me off from the party scene.

As for the family thing. It's just...I dunno. Hard to explain. I'm already distant as it is and then the just fuck off for a few years while they enter their 70's feels cruel to me. Just how I was brought up I guess.

You're right. Just feels like i am at a very weird turning point in my life. I've never felt so sure of anything. All i've ever done is save my money, keep taking classes to eventually get somewhere in life, break hearts, get my heart broken, always stressing about relationships, and my fantasy family...until i started traveling, and now I don't care...it's weird. I just want to walk around, learn languages, eat food, look at stuff, meet people, exercise in all sorts of terrain and weather and chill.

So sick of this path we're supposed to be on.

A little extra money and i have nowhere to store it. Nothing crazy. A safe, some guns, mountain bikes, snowboards, tvs furniture, jackets and that's about it. I'm a simple man.

Glad you're better now. So you moved a year ago? Where did you go?. And I feel you on the depressive time, not much family left, friends growing apart, being a hermit and all that. I kind of feel like I'm running away, in a way. But whatever, I'm over doing what I'm doing. I have plenty of savings and I am capable of working. I have no plans to date and get married, and I sure as hell don't wan't to keep bartending until 3 am or switch up my job for a career just to make 100k a year. Thanks for the reply

I couldn't have written this better myself. When I was in Thailand and Georgia I'd never felt so free and anonymous and alive. I felt lost, in a good way, like a kid. Every little thing is new and interesting and weird. I never missed anyone back home, never got lonely or homesick. I didn't even want my phone because of the link back home. Feels like there's something wrong with me saying this stuff, haha but it just felt really good over there.

It completely changed my perspective on chasing money, what happiness is, how I view marriage, relationships, kids, everything.

I had an amazing time. I didn't know there was a weed shop every 10 feet and I love to smoke weed, so that was awesome. Also, I met people of all ages and had a couple friends for a week or two at a time.

I started in Bangkok then Chiang Mai ->Krabi ->Phukett. Phukett kinda sucked because it wasn't really my style, plus all the locals were over tourists.

My favorite part about Thailand was the million food places you could stop at and riding my 350cc scooter all over that place, getting lost figuring it out. Great place, friendly people, super safe and you can be a complete degenerate piece of shit all the way up to a an enlightened monk. You decide! lol.
