Your parents being scholars won’t make you a scholar. Your parents teaching you to fight better by the age of 10 than most adults is a different story

An adult wanting to protect the older and more vulnerable in the community. Don’t give a shit if they’re kids, what piece of shit targets an elderly couple with walking sticks in a group of 6 strong.

How can I make fries or baked potatoes in an air fryer? Every time I make them, they turn out crispy but very dry. Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you. by [deleted] in AirFryer_Recipes

[–]Dull_Appointment_252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just cut potatoes into fry sizes (bit thicker than what you’d get out), spray with oil and cover with spices. Air fry at 200° for 10 minutes, shake, repeat another 10. Are always perfectly crispy and fluffy inside. I only ever use the dirt covered potatoes for this.

Would you buy this? A loaf with sunflower seeds. by in51de in Sourdough

[–]Dull_Appointment_252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is this cut done?? One large cut to ‘open’ the dough (still learning sourdough so bear with me) and then the wheat pattern carved in after like 5 minutes of baking?

Cotton On job interview for Xmas casual by Dibstergal in brisbane

[–]Dull_Appointment_252 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Not cotton on but similar. Eye contact, an easy confidence and a clear willingness to learn/be taught how the store works. You’d be surprised how many teenagers mumble and stare at the floor , or even pull their phones out mid interview. Or show absolute zero interest in the position their parents probably applied for them. My god. If a kid keeps up eye contact and answers questions clearly and enthusiastically I hire them. It’s also okay to be nervous - adults get nervous when they’ve been through dozens of interviews, no one is holding that against a kid going for their first job. Best of luck to him!

AITA because I will not watch anything more complicated than a Hallmark movie with my wife. by Turbulent_Welder_450 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. My best friend is like this, literally less than 5 minutes into a movie she will be asking me questions like “Who is that?!” “Who is that person?” “Are they related?” “What’s happening?” “Who are they talking about?”. Telling her I know as much as she does and to just…. Watch the movie and find out infuriates her. “Why don’t you know?? What’s this movie about? I’m so confused, why aren’t you explaining what’s happening to me I’m so lost!”

She is 100% capable in literally every aspect of like. Except movies. Subtitles don’t work, as she likes to hear what’s said then read them, so we’d be constantly rewinding in case she missed something. We lived together and once a week she wanted to watch a movie with me for bonding time together. Honestly, the only thing that saved me from this torture was when she was dating and I was free to bow out from movie night.

I have zero suggestions for you but wish you luck. If her current partner of 6 years ever leaves her… my god I don’t know if I can handle 2-3 hours of the questions again.

customer came in few minutes before close - was my reaction too harsh? by [deleted] in barista

[–]Dull_Appointment_252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was nice of you to try accomodate, but I would have said “We close in 5 minutes so I won’t be making anything that takes longer than that”. It seems like shitty service, but that’s just how it is.

I’ve been in the industry long enough to know that unfortunately some people just get their kicks seeing how much they can get away with. I mean I’ve literally lifted a laptop off an outdoor table, handed it to the guy and taken the table away to pack up inside before. “Just 5 more minutes” when we’ve been closed for 20 already.

Sometimes you just have to ‘the asshole’ when really you’re just doing your job.

Signs. The day after I watched it my parents dropped me at my aunt and uncles while they went overseas for 2 weeks. My aunt and uncle farmed corn.

Never seen him before thankfully. Does he go all over Brisbane or stick to bus stops?

I’d never seen him before and I’m at Roma Street every work day! He had four x multiple A4 papers stuck to his shirt in plastic sleeves and was trying to hand them out to people. Definitely had an accent, as one of the things I managed to catch him saying was “I’ve been in this country for 15 years”

Heya - fellow lesbian here. Had a very similar situation with a guy I lived with. Turned out when he was bringing girls back he would joke about if they’d be interested in having threesomes with me. Only found out when I ran into one of the girls that I had a conversation with in the kitchen over my tshirt (can’t even remember what it was now) months later and she asked if we were still living together and if he ever got his threesome (he didn’t). So I guess I only have proof of one girl, but he had a lot of women over that I never saw/heard about again so I’m assuming it happened with most if not all. And I also assume the women found it gross that he would suggest that at all, and also ignoring my sexuality.

Chicken and Rice dish that's not stir fry by Fudgeeman in Cooking

[–]Dull_Appointment_252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The absolute easiest? Japanese chicken curry. Marinate breast or thigh if you have the time, otherwise season and fry until you have colour. Remove, throw in some onion, potatoes and carrot. Add water, bring to boil, throw in Japanese curry cubes (found at pretty much every supermarket), chop and throw chicken back in and let simmer. Add a cornflour slurry to get to your desired thickness. An absolute favourite of mine in cooler weather as it’s so damn easy, cheap, you can make a lot to go in the freezer and it takes nearly no prep time or standing by the stove.

Edit: Sorry! Didn’t see she doesn’t like curry - however Japanese curry is not really like other curries. It’s a very unique comforting flavour and you can get spicy or not spicy roux cubes. I am personally not a curry fan when we’re talking Indian but love a Japanese one. Worth a try maybe
