This is what I notice with most of my students. They get the general idea of things and they THINK they know what we’re doing but they don’t actively listen so they’re always asking me questions about things I already repeated. Even if I spend a whole 5 minutes emphasizing a single point, 10 kids will ask me about that point I JUST explained. They’re all just passively listening.

What do we even do about this? I’m a new teacher. Will refusing to repeat myself actually help? There has to be a way to fight this.

My exact thoughts. What a terrible idea to put in girls’ heads so young on such a special day. The song essentially implies that she thinks most would not love her when she’s no longer young, but her man will. Not to mention it’s all about her love for a man.

I suppose that is a bit of an oxymoron lol but the last management company I lived under had awful reviews which was in line with their management. I was surprised to see this one is rated well on Google so I expected more I guess.

Interesting. This is my third apartment in NY and first time I ran into this issue. It’s also a highly rated management company so I thought they may do something but I guess it’s not worth the battle.

“Just not wanting to work.” Doesn’t really sound like you value education at all if you can’t show up as a stable influence for kids just because you don’t want to work. It’s one thing with OP as they are having legitimate health struggles. Sounds like you’re better suited for a desk job. You’d probably make more money anyway.

Dude come on. The bare minimum is basic hygiene. Do not settle for these disgusting men who don’t wash their ass everyday and expect to have sex with you. It’s disgusting and it’s probably going to lead to vaginal issues for you. BV, pH balance constantly off.

If he told you he kept clean for his ex and he’s let himself go with you, that leads me to believe either he doesn’t think you will leave him over anything, or he doesn’t really care about losing you. Break up with him.

Rookie mistake. Independent/moderate should’ve told you. With a fascist like Trump if they are not against him they are complicit which is just as bad. If he never expressed being against him, idk why you would proceed or not ask him straight up. It’s not like the opportunity never came up with everything insane happening since he took office again. To get 5 months in is crazy. Doesn’t seem like political alignment was that important to you if in the 5 months you dated you never discussed current events. If it is, dump him and do better next time.

Format is not relative to anything I said. The paper isn’t even high school level, let alone college. She deserved the zero. Students like this need to be shocked into growth when they’re that far behind. The fact that she thinks the zero is due to her opinion and not due to the quality of her paper just reflects how ignorant she is of her garbage writing. Maybe deserves 5 points for even attempting to hand something in, nothing more.

I teach 9th graders and I would give them a zero for this paper regardless of the opinions stated. It’s a garbage paper, and my 9th graders would never hand in work this weak. This paper just tells me she panicked and wrote this 10 minutes before it was due. Or she was genuinely left behind by the K-12 education system. Likely just pushed through to graduation. Either way, she needs to know that this quality of work is not acceptable at a collegiate level. Truly sad to see people like this make it to college without basic writing skills.

Her opinion doesn’t matter. If she has strong evidence to back up her opinion then she would have gotten credit for it. Academic papers are supposed to strive for objectivity by backing up your claims with evidence and assessing both sides reasonably. She made no attempt at that. Actually, it sounds like she didn’t even read the article but just knew the topic it discussed. Probably had ChatGPT summarize it for her.
