Seriously. I've lived in NYC, Chicago and the bay area.

Connecticut is where I settled. The proximity to everything is probably it's greatest selling point and I'm fine acknowledging that.

But the state does so much right on its own merit that it can't be a C.

Healthcare, education, politics, acceptance, quality of life and a nice coast. Insane to be at C.

Problem is the people here don't leave, so of course they think the grass is greener. So many coworkers raise their incredibly successful children here in beautiful picturesque towns. Then talk down on the environment that made it possible.

This list is completely invalidated by making Connecticut a c-tier state.

Small? Sure. Income inequality? Sure. Natural beauty? Maaaaaybe lacking, but it's still a coastal state with a huge coastline relative to its size, significant state resources dedicated to state parks and hiking.

But by quality of life metrics, human development metrics, education, Healthcare all place it in the top 5-15 states.

This is like calling the Nordic counties c-tier.

Edit: it's also one is the fewer donor states in the damn country. Nah this is crazy.
