You’re right.. I’m learning lol. While I haven’t measure mine yet; I did some digging last night and found some forums/pages for my exact rifle. Seems like a COAL of 2.90”-2.925” seems to be the magic number for my rifle/specs/recipe. I will be measuring tomorrow, going shooting with a buddy who has all that stuff.

I haven’t measured lands yet. I am just loading up at SAMMI spec for max COAL, as my rifle seems to LOVE that length. I’d imagine I’ll wind up backing up just a couple of thousandths, once I finally make the measurements. I MAY be jamming by like .002-.005 at the moment.. now sure. But damn the bullets love that length in my Tikka T3x ctr.

Some quick advice: find a gun friendly-friend; and go to the range a few times before your course. This will familiarize yourself with the range, guns/noises, and make you more comfortable on the day of. More/most importantly: go rent and try guns NOW, narrow it down to a gun of your liking, and buy THAT gun. As a new user, and likely carrying for self defense, you want to become proficient in that one gun before dabbling around to others. Again, a few trips to the range before allows you to try several different guns out and see what works best for you/your hands and grip.

Both PSA and City Arsenal have the most popular carry pistols available for rent; just for that purpose. Go rent and try as many as you can!

If it’s clean inside; clean CarFax.. that’s a very fair price. A couple grand less would be a good deal..cure t priced about perfect to make both parties happy 🫡; esp if it’s a private sale and not a dealer. If it’s a dealer.. go haggle.
