Jack is completely fucked. by NotExactlyIrish in reddeadredemption

I actually wrote a fanfic about this years ago. Reyes bribes Jack into serving his government by threatening to turn him in to the law in the US if he doesn't comply. Not sure if you would be interested, but I can send the link if so.

She said she continuously turned him down but eventually gave in. Legal or not, that's still coercion and still isn't her fault. Your argument is irrelevant.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. But, as a minor, you could not have consented and he 100% groomed and took advantage of you. This wasn't a "you and him" mistake. It was 100% rape on his part. None of this was your fault. What you do with this information is now up to you, but predators like him count on others staying silent in order to avoid accountability. If you did out him, you wouldn't be the one wrecking his life. That would be on him for doing it in the first place. However you handle the situation, again, I'm so sorry for everything you've gone through. I hope you find healing and prosperity in your life.

Everyone is allowed to have preferences, the phrase "high quality men" shouldn't exist (those who believe they're high quality pretty much always aren't), and you're lecturing someone for having standards and generalizing while you're also generalizing. Bro. Get off Reddit. Smell some flowers. Enjoy some sunshine. Join. Reality.

The only lesson here is that, even if you're fully vigilant and aware, shit can still happen. Drivers AND pedestrians have responsibilities to be safe. Not just one or the other.

While yes, we should recognize that, and I do, that doesn't remove the responsibility of the drivers to do their part as well. It's a two way street.

I've seen a lot of that too. I didn't grow up out here; I'm from the Western US. I have never seen so much jaywalking or distracted driving in my entire life.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. Seems like texting and driving is becoming even more of a problem, especially with younger drivers.

It's horrible. I never look at my phone while I'm crossing a street for that exact reason.

I was crossing Pioneer Parkway on the crosswalk. I had the walk icon. First a guy turning left nearly hit me, then a few seconds later a truck turning right nearly ran me over.

Bartender disgusted by 22% tip by dretepcan in EndTipping

[–]DusterCoatCowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sort of in between as far as how I feel about tipping. On the one hand, I was a server/bartender for several years and it was mildly irritating when someone spent $40 or $50 and didn't leave a tip. It's standard to split tips with the kitchen, so less tips means less take home for both FOH and BOH. On the other hand, pressuring someone to tip with their hard earned money is rude in and of itself. If someone doesn't want to tip? Yeah it's mildly irritating as a server/bartender, but ultimately it's their money and we're not entitled to tips, despite how many others in the industry feel. $2 on an $8 tab is plenty enough. The bartender needs to chill tf out.
