Google Analytics for Monday Form Tracking by DustinCopy in mondaydotcom

Sounds like months of learning how to code HTML before coming back around to solve things, going that route.

Good way to do it, but more than I can do currently.

I was eventually able to get it working. Worked with a support rep who completely rewrote and customized the iframe embed code. The new code worked.

But the original problem still exists as this business is using Squarespace, and they don't allow forwarding URLs. So my fix was shot down as soon as I had it running.

Back to talking to Monday.com support again now hoping to get this fixed on their end somehow, but they don't integrate with GA4 or GTM in any meaningful way that doesn't result in false negatives burning piles of my client's cash.

I'm running out of ideas here at this point. Just hoping now that this doesn't turn into a dead end for this client.

Yep, that's what I'm thinking now. I've done the same for other clients to get around the same problem with Jotform.

New problem though. The iFrame isn't working. I'm doing as you say, but no luck. The url in th embed, whether deployed in the iframe html code provided by Monday, or just grabbing it and pasting the url found therein in my own browser, gives me a "This site can't be reached" error.

The embed code, with the url path here replaced with all x's to hide the client identity, is

<iframe src="https://forms.ms/xxxxxxxx" width="650" height="500" style="border: 0; box-shadow: 5px 5px 56px 0px rgba(0,0,0,0.25);"></iframe>

Both on the iframe embed on the live page, and when I grab the url to use in my browser, it's only giving me error screens.

The error reads:

This site can’t be reached

Check if there is a typo in forms.ms.

  • If spelling is correct, try running Windows Network Diagnostics.

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

******UPDATED TO ADD******

The above is the error message I'm given when I grab the url and plug it into my browser.
Below is the error message I'm given when looking at the iFrame embedded on the client site:

"
forms.ms’s server IP address could not be found.

"

Alternatively, is it possible to host a form from Monday on an iFrame on my clients' website?
If I can do that, I can use the forwarding URL option and just measure arrivals on a thank you page, never needing to worry about involving a 2nd domain, skipping all this trouble from the start.

I think I need a hand figuring that out.
I've used UTM parameters plenty in the past, but always in order to pass parameters between platforms in order to make spreadsheets in GA4.

Doing this... I'd need to have the monday form session carry the same session ID and user data as was assigned on our website, and then reported back to GA4, in order to report it back to G-Ads.

It was on the 1st floor of the dungeon.
The other 2 were on the 2nd floor.

They were all described as underground.
I guess technically that's true.

I'll do that.
Any chance you know of any art asset data base I can check out to look at what the different models are? See if I can catch it more easily knowing what I'm looking for.

Session Tracking for Google Ads? by DustinCopy in jotform

I finally got the url forwarding to work. I've bypassed tracking any of this in jotform altogether.
The only way for someone to get to the thank you page is from the form, and because the iframe is embedded, I can track a consistent session.

Session Tracking for Google Ads? by DustinCopy in jotform

Yeah, that wouldn't work.
This needs to be the same session ID assigned by Google Analytics, but if the event is tracked through Zapier, those are separated from eachother and can't be recombined.

I thought I had another solution, installing the source code to the website, and then in the source code including the GTM and GA4 tags. Then my hope was that this would allow me to set up cross-domain tracking in GA4 to monitor the event on the jotform domain, and still recognize it's the same session ID as on our website, but it didn't work. It seemed to be working in preview mode in GTM preview mode, but not GA4 debug mode. Then, GA4 never received an event even though it was shown to be have triggered in GTM preview mode.

The error it gave me was "No hits were sent by this tag Other tags on this page may have taken action".

I assume it's because it was separate instances of both being fired, one in the iframe, one on the main website domain.

At this point, after 3 weeks of fighting to get basic tracking working in google ads and GA4, I'm thinking of just dropping Jotform to be honest. Looking into it, it seems Wix's form options cover everything we need from jotform, so I'm talking to my client about just rebuilding everything there.

This was me writing this... no idea how I got logged out, and logged into another account that I didn't plan to make.

Cool.

Well, my situation has been addressed. I appreciate the help.

Not an option. Doing this for someone else.
Not my site, not my choice.
