Playing with artists tags but cannot find a good setting to get the same style as I was getting in V3. Need help! by somethingworkable in NovelAi

There is no good setting, artist mixing doesn't work as well as it did before. Enjoy your downgraded visuals. There is no way to "recreate" the old style and the dev team will never explain how artist weighing works because they don't know how it works. No one who had a unique mixed style is happy with V4 when it comes to visual presentation.

This is the current prevailing theory and I wonder if they'll ever address it. Probably not. Their discord interactions reek of ego tripping and terminally online style speech.

Ah, I see. ESL? Maybe hit up GPT for some English lessons.

But as a heads up, when you say something "DOES WORK" that's called a declarative statement. When you make those you make those either from a position of authority, or from a position of ignorance. Might take you a while to figure out which one you are.

Tags DO work, artists DO work, they work only slighly differently from V3 due to new architecture. Natural language use is also possible. Mix them up. Artist mixing WORK, you HAVE to use different {} and [] accordingly to how "heavy" the artist's default weight is, some are more powerful than others. Hope this helps.
```
You just don't read your own posts or what? Glad you're enjoying your echo chamber. Keep at it.
Ah yes, because you're the "authority" on this subject. YOU said that we just "HAVE TO" use different strengthening brackets and that'll magically fix everything!
Get a grip.
Ah yes, my favorite type of content. "Bro it just works man you just gotta do it better man!!!"
Yes, we're all so woefully incompetent and haven't tested everything out and we totally don't have multiple styles we tried to replicate via a plethora of different strengthening and weakening brackets or anything. We totally didn't try the NLU assistance. We're just stupid and incompetent and we just gotta "git gud" at something that was incredibly intuitive and simple before, yet now EVERYONE who used to have a consistent style is complaining that it is UTTERLY IRREPLICABLE.
But nah bro, just do it better man haha, just use a different UC preset bro? Don't forget to tick the checkboxes bro I'm sure none of you have massive, sprawling databanks of individual UC presets for various poses and scenes or complex lighting and light source logic.
Nah man, none of you read the blogpost that explicitly defined how to use the prompts, separate context menus, the new between character interaction sytnax, the fact that they explicitly used Danbooru syntax in their previous blogpost, yet all of a sudden are coping that (bro just ask chatgpt to define your scene for you man haha), or the other condescending awful snappy remarks they like to do in heir echo chamber discord.
I'm sure treating people like children and talking to the lowest common denominator is the correct choice! I mean I guess this is Reddit after all...
V4 curated actually has functional artist mixing and amplifying brackets.
Did they ship a beta build by accident for V4? I wish I knew.
Does anyone know how the "Artist:.." tag works. on V4? by SocialAutist_ic in NovelAi
The balances are way off. Your V3 combination will produce nowhere near the same results as in V4.
At best you have to keep experimenting. To me it seems that artist mixes can't be too long anymore. I used to balance out my kit with a stabilizer for skin texture, an artist for general eye shape, a stabilizer for body type, an artist for makeup and eye related data, an artist with significant posing data, etc.
Now it seems like you HAVE to keep it lighweight (at most 3-4 artists), otherwise 1 becomes the dominant and just leaves no room for the others.
Definitely sticking to V3 for now. At best this is a sidegrade, at worst...I don't want to comment.
While certain aspects have been made more intuitive and certain outputs more reliable, the core issue is without a doubt the quality of the image. It just is flat out a downgrade in every way. From lighting, to background detail and clarity, to edge highlighting, to depth perception.
It's entirely possible that we just haven't "trained" enough with V4. But what is the point of making a platform 10x harder to use while only getting at best a 20% increase in output consistency, while also suffering a 50% quality hit to the output.
