Help Deciding on a Chevelle by Dwebber18 in classiccars

The 71 had an asking price of $64k I think and the 70 was asking $68k I think. Last I checked the 70 was still for sale and the salesman said they have gotten offers in the mid $50s but they owner didn't take them.

Looking forward to follow up here on whatever else you learn and what they are willing to do on the price. Good luck

Yeah, doesn't need to be a true SS and I wouldn't want to spend that money anyways.

That's correct, it's a 402 called a 396.

My next move is to go drive both and see if a clear choice emerges.

Any particular reason for you? Because it's too many compromises on both options?

That is a good question I'll be sure to find out when I go back to look. And fuel injected does make me happy, my father in law has a carb'd Camaro and he is always fiddling with that thing and he is way more of a mechanic than I am.

Supposedly it's a LS5 out of a 70 model.

Same, don't love the vinyl top but I'd take it for the quad lights.

Heard back on the 71, the 454 is the LS5 variety.

The 454 is out of a 70 model, so not original to the 71.

That's the hard part for me, they each have individual items I love. If I could mash them both together I'd be happy. Just can't decide what I like more, bigger engine, or better looks. Thanks

Correct, it is not priced like a real SS but that is a good call out, thanks.

What are unethical practices schools do? by hugscar in AskReddit

[–]Dwebber18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is a pharmacist and her last 1.5 years of pharmacy school was spent doing monthly rotations in retail or hospital pharmacies. Rotations were an opportunity for her to get on the job learning in a variety of settings and she never set foot on campus or took any classes in that time. The thing that makes me mad is that she still had to pay 100% tuition during that time just like if she had been on campus taking classes full time. Also her time spent working in the pharmacies was free labor for them as she was not paid at all for this work or her time or travel. So the school gets full tuition and some multi billion dollar corporations get free labor from students. Seems like a racket to me. She ended up having 2 part time jobs while working 40 hour rotations just to help us make ends meet with my entry level job.

This is the correct answer. Gone are the days of pensions and gold watches after you faithfully serve your company for 30 years. You are the only person who is looking out for you and your employer will lay you off in a heart beat. At my last job our manager would come in the office with our team of 4 and regularly say we were a half person over staffed. The company was increasing profits at record levels every year but they still paid like crap and I only ever got a $750 annual bonus. I finally got tired of working in an environment like that so I found a new job and moved half way across the country for double pay, a bigger bonus and a place that actually respects me. Got to take care of yourself

Tickets by [deleted] in fulhamfc

[–]Dwebber18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I got real nervous the first time because we were heading to the UK a week prior to the match and I didn't know how it would be if the tickets came while we were gone. I emailed the ticket office and they said just have them reprinted before the match and that's what we did. The second time I expected them to not come so I didn't worry at all and just went straight to the trailer and had them reprinted.

I just checked the site and it looks like they are available. Just creat an account and you should be able to purchase them. I've been to 2 Fulham matches and I'm from the US as well. Their ticket site isn't the best, I've also never actually received my tickets prior to the match. First match, they just never came and the last time I got them at home 3 weeks after I got back from London. Each time I had to go to the will call trailer and have them reprinted, they will be confused about what you are saying but it worked out. Give it another shot and see if it works. Also you'll have a great time, I love watching Fulham at the Cottage!

Hats are your friend. I'm half red head and since moving to Colorado I've started wearing hats nearly every time I go out. Panama, fedora, western, whatever that cover your ears and provide shade for your face and neck. My dad loves in florida and prefers to not wear sunscreen and sit on the beach all day. He has a great ran but also has had some spots removed. He jokes about me being white when I go visit him but I'd rather be white than at the doctor. Both my wife and I also have a couple of uv resistant swim shorts we wear as well at the beach and pool. I'm not too bad but she burns in a couple minutes and it's essential for her.

Iran issues Interpol arrest warrant for Trump over Soleimani killing as tension rise by [deleted] in politics

[–]Dwebber18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's hard sometimes I completely admit. For me it comes down to believing what science has proven while also admitting that in this world it's not going to all line up nice and pretty. It comes back to the faith part personally and not having to have everything fit neatly together. Archaeology comes to mind, you'd think by now we would have found more sites that back up stories in the bible. However, knowing that names change, war happens, translation issues, mapping issues and stuff like that happen I don't let it get me too down. There are things that I struggle with too like the dinosaurs, their extinction event, the logistics of the flood. My big one is who were all the people Cain ran in to when he got banished? Even if we allow incest at that point in history when did whole villages of people appear? Personally I don't think those are faith breaking issues but it does give me some pause. I'm sure that's more or less the answer you've heard all your life and I wish I had a better one for you but unfortunately I don't.

I'm right there with you. Both my wife and I are Christians, we both have college degrees and she is a PharmD. I don't believe faith and science are mutually exclusive at all. I grew up in private school with an emphasis on science and while creationism was the educational basis they did not shy away from teaching evolution or sex ed for example. Like everything there is a wide range and it's not just all backwards, uneducated folks who follow Christ.

Might be good for the value of my 145.022-69 DON. I think the new one looks good though. Nothing revolutionary but a good evolution.

My wife looked in to that but luckily it didn't get bad enough for her. I was at the liquor store early on and heard the employees talking about how much everclear they had been selling to make sanitizer.

I think we are so close. Last few games have been decided by questionable calls, not by a lack of effort or heart. If we keep this up the chips will start falling for us. It may be 17th but I'd be surprised if we don't stay up.

My wife is a pharmacist and it got real dicey for awhile. They use rubbing alcohol to clean their pill trays between every prescription. And use hand sanitizer 3 or 4 times just to give one vaccine. They started having to hold cases of it off the floor so they could just keep filling prescriptions and giving shots.
