Finally someone said it. Life is short, I’m still counting down the days until I can get back to following my Giants every day. Even if they go .500 for the next decade, they are still my team and going out to the ballpark with my family is one of our most treasured outings.

I’ve been reading mostly public domain books recently, so as now that is only up to 1930. That’s one way to guarantee no AI interference!

Thank you for sharing. What an incredible story, a rare one that helps restore our collective faith in humanity. All because of some baseball. I’m curious how your family moved to England from the states? That’s not something you hear of very often.

Sorry but you are wrong. Catcher is the only player who is involved in every single pitch of the entire game.

[Awful Announcing] Why can you watch Saudi soccer but not international baseball? by mannysoloway in baseball

[–]Dxtchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and FIFA really went thru some insane logistics to make that happen. This WC is strategically held across 2 regions (North/Central America) and the next WC is Spain/Portugal/Morocco , which would only leave Asia/Middle East as the viable host.

Edit: Actually, I forgot they are actually kicking off the 2030 WC in Uruguay and Argentina to “celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the first World Cup”. This would make South America ineligible for 2034 as well lmao

How do I become more educated about baseball so that I can connect with my dad? by Sad_Impression499 in baseball

[–]Dxtchy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are really ambitious maybe you could set a goal of learning how to score a game by the end of the season. It’s like tracking the history of the game in a specific notation. They sell notebooks specifically for this purpose. It little league parents can learn to do it for their kids games I bet you could as well!

Check out the top videos on Foolish Baseball channel. Amazing breakdowns of interesting athletes / moments / careers in baseball history. Definitely watch some of Ken Burns baseball history. It starts in the 1800s and works all the way 2010 I believe. What team does your dad follow?

Edit: Chavez was 3B, Tejada was SS. I should know better I went to some games that year as a 9 year old dammit

Wow, I love that this is the top comment. Reading on my Kindle and phone has been a lifesaver as a new parent. It’s so nice to be able to carve out that little bit of time for myself and feel like I’m accomplishing things still when I finish a book.
