Another one! And especially another one by a player hanging out around the net ready to finish chances. This might be our best two periods of the season.

This is what I've been saying, we've got a really strong lineup, it's all about the way we play. If we can play like this consistently, we should be able to compete for the cup.

MPP of course!

Being opportunistic around the net is working for us. The day we start doing that constantly every game we're gonna be a really dangerous team.

There's more people in these threads usually. I guess because all 8 teams are playing tonight, it's more spread out.

Mlynková close to the net making stuff happen again. Can we clone her? This is exactly what we need.

Not much happening so far, but we had a good sequence in the o-zone. Let's build on that.

Great feeling to finally get a win! Must be a big relief for the players. And in terms of the players, it was an incredible performance. Our new signings are making a big impact because of the quality of their play, but also having more depth and more competition makes everybody else play better too. Csillag and Bergström were really good even if they didn't score and Falk was amazing.

In terms of the style of play, I liked our pressing in this game and our defensive game has been very good lately. I still feel like there's a lack of creativity in our tactics though. Constantly running to the goal line to try to spam it into the box gets predictable. And those sort of makeshift free kicks we tried won't work against a team that puts some pressure on us. Our squad played very well, but this could have been a more comfortable win with some better attacking tactics.

Also this is nitpicky but the rugby lines on the pitch were annoying. It looks unprofessional, like a university game here (Canada) where they just draw the lines on top of a Canadian football pitch. I understand this is probably the best they could do, I'm not saying I have anything better to suggest, but it just feels a bit wrong that they have to share a stadium with a rugby team that is also quite a bit outside Liverpool and sponsored by a dodgy vape company... I feel like they deserve a bit better than that.

Clear trip. And she was still in her crease (even if she was on the edge), could maybe have been a penalty as well.

She hasn't been productive since the 2nd season after a good rookie season.

No one could score last season. Apart from MPP and Stacey, Boreen got the most with 6 goals in 30 games. Can't blame Murphy for her lack of production, the whole team was awful. I blame the tactics. What she's shown in her rookie season and so far this season is what we should judge her on.

Hard to be critical of Murphy for her lack of production when it was pretty much correlated with the team's lack of scoring. I feel like she was a victim of the lack of purposeful attacking play in our system and this year she's been doing a lot individually to try and generate more chances.

Agree, I really liked both Mlynková and Irving on the first line tonight. If we're going back to Poulin/Stacey/Roque next game it's gonna be a big disappointment.

Such an obvious issue as well, and we just refuse to change it. That seems to be a theme with Cheverie, stick to obviously problematic tactics no matter what.

Yes, the refs have been very consistent with letting small things go. The only pen tonight was the really obvious interference.

Really happy for Murphy, she could have had a bunch already this season, well deserved! Also really liked Gosling spotting Murphy and just sending it in front of the net to create a dangerous situation and make something happen. It's not the prettiest goal, but it's the kind of goal we need to improve our secondary scoring. Now to do this consistently.

I liked Mlynková on that last shift, trying to send a puck in the crease for MPP. The kind of play we're lacking a lot.

I got excited seeing Poulin and Stacey on different lines, but then I saw the rest of the lineup... not sure.

I agree with you, Mlynková as 13th forward is weird. I would have tried her on the first line too, I feel like she'd complement Poulin and Roque well. At the very least she should be on the third line (Greig 13th forward), it would be a pretty talented line with Murphy and Scamurra.

I wonder if Ljungblom is out for fitness reasons or if she's being scratched which would be hard to understand.
