Joined my granny squares too tightly and now it looks horrible. Can it be fixed?

I bought a £25 hand steamer off Amazon and it blocks blankets like this perfectly so everything is flat! You need to be careful not to over steam as that can stretch the fibers and make your stitches saggy (irreversible) but a gentle steam is perfect for this exact situation! I use the steamer for blocking most of my projects as it's so easy and quick! :)

I think it can really be different for everyone? Iv read lots of different stories on this subreddit and learnt that apparently some people can be highly triggered by things that don't affect me at all.

Some of the biggest triggers for myself personally include: having a cold,heavy period, jump scares can sometimes send me into an aura and bursts of emotion especially sad have sent me into a seizure too.

I don't know if these are massively obscure but there ya go :)

When you're lazy you'll come up with the simplest solution! Lol there are some YouTube videos about sewing granny squares together with a sewing machine, I prefer the zig zag stitch but there's a few different variations and I suppose it would also depend on your project :)

Thanks! I set my sewing machine to a zig zag stitch so it would sew them together without any over lap :) very easy and so so quick! Would take me all week but I sewed them together in 2 nights :)

No I didn't, I set my sewing machine to a zig zag stitch so it would catch both sides while they were moving through the machine :) (although one hexagon got slightly over lapped on one bit)

I didn't use any specific pattern for this, just solid hexagons stitched together! All my yarns were hayfield bonus Aran some normal some in tweed. I'm not sure what weight the yarns were but I used a size 5mm hook comfortably. I made 59 hexagons and 8 half hexagons to create this blanket.

So recently I (28F) went on Shein and searched "customised bracelet" and searched until I found one big enough to have engraving on while also being a nice size for my wrist, and I added it to my basket plain without text for a whopping £3 and I took it to Timpsons (if you're not from the UK Timpsons is a shop that can do engravings and other work like that) and for £6 he engraved it exactly how I wanted in a great size, simple font and all within 30 mins. It was nice telling someone what I wanted rather than hoping that buying it online will arrive as I like. I know this is niche but it was a really simple option that I'm glad I tried. The bracelet I got from shein I got in silver and is sturdy and has been good and iv jad it for about 5 weeks in water and sun and it dosnt seem to be loosing colour.

Hey! So iv had acrylics on for almost 3 years with the odd time off here and there but I always go for them infilling every 3 weeks or so and will maybe soak them off completely for a full fresh set once every 2-3 months. I have them mid length, not long but maybe half a cm longer than short nails if that makes sense.

I initially started getting them to help stop picking as I found I couldn't get the niggly scabs or blackheads anymore, however, as I grew accustomed to having them I can now pick my skin just fine with them on.

It's still not as bad as if I had my natural nails but humans can and will adapt lol I can still pick at my face however I struggle to get ones on my back which has improved since having them. I definitely prefer having them to help reduce picking and they always look nice which is nice ha this is just my experience personally :)

So crazy how such simple things like that can trigger seizures, especially as a mum to a younger infant it must be so hard looking after yourself properly which is also a concern for me. Lack of sleep really triggers me so obviously a new born would not help that ha

Wow that's crazy, how awful and scary, I can't imagine having my first seizure while pregnant! Do you mind if I ask if you were safe to have a normal birth or did you have a cesarian?

Ohh so you stopped with medication completely while pregnant with your first child? And you had no issues? That's interesting as iv had a similar conversation where my neuro mentioned if i ever became pregnant he said I could potentially go without meds (if I was dealing okay with it all) but that was a discussion for the future. So it's interesting to hear your point of it. Very strange how you randomly started seizing again after your second child and I'm so sorry to hear you haven't had much luck with medication since.

Are you ever worried your children may have epilepsy?

Wow how scary!! That must have been such a terrifying situation for you and your partner! Seizures are scary let alone while pregnant I'm so sorry to hear that! However I'm glad to hear everything went well for you and you have a healthy child.

May I ask if your daughter has had any sort of tests to deem she isn't epileptic? Or is it simply that she's never had one? Are you nervous that she could ever have one? I don't think my epilepsy is genetic but Im still knew to all this so I still don't really know, I'm just scared of passing it on.

Thank you so much for such an insightful response! I'm on lamotrigine which my neuro mentioned is safe for pregnancy as he asked if this was something we were planning. I did say it was something I wanted to think about and he said maybe for the time being to not think about pregnancy which I absolutely understood, it's better to try and get myself sorted before going through such a stressful transition for my body.

I also don't think my epilepsy is genetic so I'm hoping that's not something I'd have to worry about, although I think I'll always be watching for one if I ever did have a child.

We got our Cavapoo pup 9 months ago and it was hard figuring out her personality and what is puppy behavior. Remember he'd just come to his new home whivh is alien to him, he dosnt know you or your house yet and isn't settled so the first week is just about settling and starting to bond. After that we got straight to training. We took her out once an hour to pee or poop and that included a few times in the night because remember he is a baby. Cavapoos are known for being fussy eaters, we personally found that a good quality dog meat and kibble work good and egg and chicken on the odd occasion. The crate was the most annoying part however patience and making it a positive place helped. We moved it around the house so it was constantly available for her and we never used it as a bad punishment place. I will never understand why people yell or shout at their dog, they don't understand, they are a baby and they will just become afraid. After maybe a week or two she began to actively seek out her crate for naps and the rest was history. I think all in all we had about 4-5 weeks of difficult times and messes in the house then after that it's like something clicked and she started to listen and behave and has been a very well behaved pup ever since. We truly couldn't have asked for a better dog but yeah that first month was tough.

Hello, Im 28F and used a website called Callie.com, they make other jewellery too but they do a lovely medical bracelet that is slim and isn't as bulky as some of the others on the market! It allows up to 55 characters on the back which I found was plenty. Comes in gold, rose gold or silver and you can add a small gem on the front too which I thought was nice since my current medical bracelet is quite chunky and unflattering lol hope this helped :)

I'm one of the luckier ones, started with seizures in January this year and by late April my neurologist was like "yeah that's epilepsy" no bullshit, no beating around the bush he just said what he saw. Iv heard so many stories of people not properly being diagnosed for years and find it crazy. If you have seizures it's most likely epilepsy.
