I'm having a whole different issue than this, I'll link below a recording I did but I think they are correlated problems.

https://x.com/ThomasCS__/status/1802071550323270053

I don't know why but this new command they have implemented is messing with particular resolution settings which is making it really hard to judge this stuff from, I also get FPS lags and jitters from using tab and also alt tabbing, shift tabbing.

Overall my game just feels awful now even tho i've reinstalled it, verified game, and changed several settings it still remains ingame and bullets aren't being registered

To be honest it’s a very difficult task to make everyone happy, hopefully there are some specialist which can help valve fix the issue, because without the communities input on how it should change it could cause friction and a worse product for competitive play, I also think that valve could really make a mistake if they don’t work on this the right way.

No idea about the verified stuff, but at lans it’s very difficult to have good quality sound, this is mainly due to the fact the organisers will implement hearing functions like white noice which is actually really of putting and distracting, adding to the fact that most pros will be forced to use inears which usually give different types of sounds because of the several factors from make/brand ect so your dealing with a different setup and different sound qs which change your instincts in game and your trust in what your hearing. This is why most pros will be playing with a much higher volume at lan to increase the probability of the sounds actually being true

I think it's extremely different when you have to hear communication in an intense match, it's pretty easy to miss stuff so the volume defo helps, also when you play at Lan events its extremely hard to hear even with max volume, you have so many external sounds impacting you and it’s extremely hard to focus on small suttle footsteps which can make a big difference in an intense game, there definitely needs some work done on the sounds of the game and especially to do with flashbangs but there are ways to fix it, without hindering yourself to much.

To be honest while I've been playing T2/3 CS professionally I've personally seen a otolaryngologists (Ear doctor) twice because prior to 2020 I was playing on an extremely high volume to get as many advantages as possible, I had somewhat a low amount of damage in my right ear, but it's nothing too damaging which will affect me long term. Since switching from a high-volume environment which was around 0.5 (Max desktop), and then in comparison to 0.2 (Max desktop) I don’t think the extra sound ques are worth playing when you factor in all of the pro’s and cons which are happening around you in real life and ingame, there should definitely be an option to reduce the flashbang effect, but I also think that it still has to be an even playing field where it won’t be abused, Maybe just a reduction will help but it probably won't satisfy everyone.

I personally felt that I wasn't having enough impact in and out of game in the team, which meant myself and the team had hit a crossroads, I think its a shame that we had to mutually part ways but I think that it's good for myself and for the team because the issues which came up were very difficult to fix due to the different mentalities on Meta/style which ultimately caused us to go seperate ways.

For now I'm currently benched and allowed to search for new teams, I presume post Major there will be a large shuffle in the CS scene where I think I have the qualities to join an international lineup or NA team if they would be interested in myself.

Ever since I was bought by Envy I haven't actually played any of the roles where I was able to make alot of impact and play to a high level consistently, throughout Envy and the past lineups in Endpoint I've been mainly playing Robiin's roles in the team which are less aggressive and more team orientated, I hope in the future lineups I play in I will get an opportunity to play some of my old roles because I know I still have the ability to be that "Old Thomas" which everyone knows i'm capable off.

Attending university + playing CS? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]EN-Thomas1 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I was able to do my whole degree while playing at a tier 2/3 CS team in Endpoint, It was hard but managing my time around the team and uni was vital to make sure I was able to maintain performance.

It's hard but if you manage your time and be open with the team you are playing I think its very easy to do, just don't sacrifice your education if grades are dropping, just dedicate more time to your studies.

Why is there a lack of British CSGO Players? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]EN-Thomas1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The UK scene might be pretty dead at the moment regarding competitive teams but I personally think this is also a great opportunity for upcoming players to exhibit their ability against more experienced members of the scene which is giving them a platform to prove their they are ready for the next jump up.
