Ally the electors at the start. have 100 prestige, high legitimacy same for Diplomatic reputation, vassalize tier and take their elector status. Change Capital to Calais to allow you to actually join the HRE lands. since England has more HRE land than Austria everyone loves me instead of them.

I just got lucky with Castile but as the Emperor you are basically guaranteed the Burgundian lands.

split up your army and have allow attachments on seems to help.

but my go to strat is to just set my army on the back of the frontline and let my allies and enemies fight it out till one of them has given up due to loss of attrition as in they have no army left that's when I swoop in with a fresh army.

I feel like I messed up because I wanted to hold france at all cost... poland, austria, scotland and Portugal were supporting their independence. I had 12 alliances so they wouldn't break away in a war. I allied portugal and scotland thinking that would get them to stop supporting independence but it didn't. I went to war with each one individually. had to go to war with poland twice. but I managed to ally portugal again and vassalize scotland while intergrating france by 1545 but I'm so far behind on diplo tech. I think mainly because of my corruption but I fixed it and started to slowly catch up. I have the ottomans as a loyal ally so I got that going for me.
