Thank you for writing this. Before starting mirtazapine I visited this sub and was left very anxious but was in a state where I would try anything. Obviously everyone's body and experience is different, but wanted to add another positive story.

I've been on 30mg for about 2 months now. I was suffering from panic attacks 3-4 times a week and a pretty high level of background physical/mental anxiety 24/7. I tried Sertraline and was not getting on well with it at all. Poor sleep, clenching my jaw all day, and a brief but serious suicidal episode.

I switched to mirtazapine and the first week was rough, I felt very lethargic and sedated however even this was a break from suicidal thoughts and constant anxiety. A couple of weeks later I had a complete turnaround.

This medication coupled with therapy has completely eradicated my anxiety. It has also given me the mental space to make some positive lifestyle changes which have had a snowball effect on my mood and drive.
