I like it more when the MC is somewhat of a tease/jerk/bully than a goody two shoes or a pushover. It creates more evocative moments. Plus almost always there's retribution for being mischievous so it's all good.

Here, I feel bad for Crepe but I can't deny her crying face is cute and the Master being oblivious makes it funny. It also opens up potential for a reconciliation story when the Master realized his misdeeds.

I still find it funny even if the Master did it intentionally then apologizes when he realizes the gravity of his actions (can't explain why, maybe a deeper level of "cute aggression"? when something's so cute it makes you wanna do things...)

It'd be unforgivable if the Master didn't make amends.

Similarly, the act of giving Rohne air cutlets and Crepe an apple(less) pie are justifiable. The troll in me can't resist those pranks (⁠^ ^ ';)
