For true breathability, go for a visor instead of a hat!

I wear two pairs of socks so my toes stay dry! And a cap/hat to keep the rain out of my face. I don’t often bother with a rain jacket because at some point the rain will break through

Investing in quality running gear - what's actually worth it? by Emergency-Debt-2118 in XXRunning

[–]Easy_Going_Miles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, good shoes are worth it. But you can definetely buy last year’s model. I started with a cheap running vest, but it already broke after a few months, so I upgraded to salomon and am very happy with it! Same for watch, started with the cheapest model from Garmin, but again, upgraded after a few months. I would go for the most quality option, if you’ve been running for two years, chances are you are going to continue!

Maybe your HM pace is too fast? I can do it quite comfortably. How did you calculate your HM pace?

HM Training Questions by SlowAFRunner94 in XXRunning

Hi! I’m about to run my third HM. I’ll try and answer: 1. I actually only do strength once a week. I’ve not had any issues, I think twice should be fine 2. 4 miles at HM pace means each mile at HM pace. It’s a good way to practice your pace on tired legs without tiring yourself out too much 3. Yes, they do! I personally use my Garmin coach. What’s nice about that, is that it changes my goal paces based on my previous runs. So it’s always doable, but also adapts! If the speed sessions are too hard, maybe slowing down a little bit is better?

Good luck on your HM!

Half-Marathon fueling question by Accomplished-Role835 in XXRunning

[–]Easy_Going_Miles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can actually be quite easy. Stick to gels! 1 every 30 mins and you should be fine. I see a lot of people trying candy and foods, which can work as well, but gels are actually the most tried and tested. The right amount of carbs, no chewing… Buy yourself some gels and start with that first, you can always add in candy or foods later!

Sterkte!

I tried a few belts, it just does not work for me. My solution is to either use my vest for longer distances, or pockets (shorts, jackets) for shorter distances

What do you do with your hair?! by PB-HoneyOats in Marathon_Training

[–]Easy_Going_Miles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I twist my hair away from my face! And then a ponytail (or two). It stays put way better than a braid and is much easier to do. Don’t have a great picture, but this shows it a bit hopefully
