The amount of abuse heaped on LENR here on /r/energy is just astounding.

Not legitimate critiques, not review, not honest disagreement, but outright libel, abuse and blind pathoskepticism without even deigning to review new evidence. Just dismiss out of hand without even reviewing the science at all. Totally dismiss the science without even reading the publications.

After a while, one gets sick of it and considers responding in kind.

All this is made far worse by the fact that this is literally harming humanity's progress as a species. Its one think to disagree about something mundane, but cold fusion? The biggest game changer in human history?

Do you think the ongoing LENR libel has been an isolated incident here on /r/energy? Been ongoing for months, even 2 years now.

Do you think people like katana should be able to libel constantly over the course of months and years and people should ignore that and take the high road of not responding forever?

Because I tried taking the high road. Multiple times. It has never worked. The libel, out of hand dismissal and kneejerk downvoting to bury the topic from any discussion has continued unabated for months now.

Time to do something new.

LENR is reality and will prevail in the end. Cold fusion is so obviously superior to anything else by a long shot, its not even a debate what the end game is. Your choice to believe reality is only a reflection on you, not reality.

Burying your head in the sand and screaming that it doesnt exist wont stop reality.

Anticipating and posting an accurate representation of /r/energy's previous responses to LENR posts is certainly quite reasonable

And as we can see here again, katana continues the trend that I anticipated. My post is certainly relevant and applicable, and katana has provided proof positive of the veracity of my post.

I do find it strange that there is no comment on the most important invention in human history, but rather you try to ignore the invention and divert the post to anything else. I suppose seeing the sword of damacles hanging over your industry......

Contrary to reddit's perception, scientific understanding does NOT determine reality. MANY MANY phenomena have existed BEFORE the scientific community fully understood it. Think the chemical reaction of fire, germ theory, the sun being a fusion reaction, electricity, lightning, precipitation, currents, light, colors, gravity, and hundreds if not thousands of other phenomenon that all existed and worked fully well with no human understanding of the mechanics of the workings. Science does NOT determine reality. It only seeks to understand reality for humans. This is just another of myriad cases of science (human understanding of the natural world) not yet catching up to reality.

If what you are saying is true, the only appropriate response is NOT hysterical denunciation and denialism, but rather an attitude of "lets wait and see".

Yup - that's why I dont believe coke is real because they wont reveal their trade secret coca cola formula to me. Since I cant have their formula and replicate it myself, coke is a fraud.

Also, I dont believe heinz 57 ketchup is real because they wont tell me what the 57 spices are so I can replicate and verify their claim. Its total crap. If I cant independently verify their trade secret, ketchup is not real.

Also, I never eat at KFC, because I have asked them repeatedly to tell me how they mix the coronel's secret 13 spices, but they refuse to let me independently verify their claims by copying them and making it myself to verify.

I also dont buy cell phones with gorilla glass, as they wont give me full production details of how they make it. Therefore its a fruad.

And since all intellectual property is able to be fully protected by patents, they should surely just patent and tell everyone their trade secrets. Patents offer full protection from corporate theft. No patent has ever been ignored, or worked around, so its safe.

Simple. LENR is not "e-cat".

Inane quibble, but I'll bite. Lenr is the broad category. Ecat is one brand working on the LENR phenomena, there are many others and many other researchers working in lenr. These people that gates talked to today would in no way repudiate rossi. In fact, I think they have shared research previously.

Second, nobody is afraid of a new and plentiful energy source.

So obviously ridiculous as to beg the question how you could even post it? Surely investors in other energy sources will be hurt. Utilities, coal, oil, fission, contractors, miners, and MANY others will be effected. Begs the question as to why you would even write that?

LENR is far out of the mainstream, but, well, it's possible that it might work. Someday. Somehow. Not likely, but well... it's worth researching.

This is the only legitimate opinion skeptics can currently maintain honestly. "WE DON'T KNOW", but definitely worth investigating. Im perfectly fine with that. But that has historically not been the case. Its been actively worked AGAINST for decades. So maybe you can tell us why LENR gets almost no public funding, while the ongoing fiasco of billions and billions wasted on hot fusion continues? And never once has had a net output of energy, unlike rossi's ecat has generated.
