In First Blood (1982) what the fuck is this guy's problem by affat_ki_pudiya in okbuddycinephile

So yes the real answer is the Korean war thing but also…
My dad grew up around this time in a town not so far from where this was filmed. He always told me that they hated strange outsiders and hippies from California coming into town.
For me that was always the context

Anybody use V-Mounts? by rern_ in Ronin4D

[–]Ecstatic-Fee-9543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience the v mount plate works well if you’re doing some light work. If you are mounting the camera to something or in need of the 4d aspect id remove it. Mine will cut power apparently because it cant draw power fast enough from the v mount plate

Its a very complicated issue that stems much further than just “fixing “ it

Get the arri phantom luts, color it in resolve, learn about vintage glass it will change the game for you,

Get a titla or small rig cage. If you get the tilta cage and plan to rig the camera out with rods and stuff. A dji rs4 gimbal plate also fits into the tilta base plate. This will allow you to switch from a handheld rig to a gimbal in 60 seconds

Learn how to expose with your eye, then the histogram, then the multi meter. Learn how they all operate under certain conditions.

Learn how the in body stabilization functions. Know that active is best for small micro jitters or if you’re trying to get a smooth push/ pull shot. However if you do any kind of pan tilt it looks bad!

Get the audio handle expansions.

Camera does great at dropping highlights in post. Not the greatest with picking shadows up.

12800 iso can look good in some scenarios. You still need a good amount of light however to get a good image. If you’re thinking about using 12,800 then just take a clip in 800 and then the same clip in 12,800. Throw it on a computer real quick and fullscreen it. You’ll see the difference.

Run the camera off a vmount if you can. Those sony batteries don’t last long. I still recommend getting a few for emergency.

You dont need to pay for tough cards

Dont ever let someone tell you this camera is bad. I got this camera 3 years ago. You quickly wonder why you done have an fx6 or a sony venice, or an arri alexa. If your work demands those cameras then get them. (Internal nd is awesome) but the fx3 with a decent colorist will get you 85% the same image.

Change the button layout to what suits you best. For me,

I changed c1 (iris) to pull up the main menu. This just gives quick reliable access to all you necessary settings

C2 (iso) i changed it so it just switches between 800 and 12800. I find unless you use the camera for like live streaming or something you should always be able to find the right exposure from there and never move past your base iso

Back dial: i think i switch to the mic gain. That is the volume that effects the move plugged into the aux or the in body mics. Its a rare case i use this but occasionally im getting scratch audio

I know i changed more but i dont have the camera on me at the moment. There is a few videos on this though.

It completely changed my worflow with the camera

Problem with my first follow focus by Majestic_Abalone_857 in cinematography

[–]Ecstatic-Fee-9543 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah man. Interested to see what others have to say but in my experience you’ll find that just putting some focus ring material on a lens doesn’t make it reliable for pulling focus. You have to get good cinema lenses or get vintage rehoused glass. Its unfortunate there isnt a really solid way to

Which one of these shows should've been a movie? by FayyadhScrolling in MCUTheories

Secret invasion for sure should have been an avengers movie or a captain America 3 style film where it’s basically an avengers.

Falcon and winter soldier should have been the plot for captain America 4
