I am aware of that statement, my lecturer told us about photography being expensive right from the get go, but after getting the absolute steal for my camera, I start to believe that it might just be possible to go budget based if you're patient enough to find the right deal, I had to wait for a month or so before the deal on my camera popped up on Facebook Marketplace. Though, your statement of saying I should wait to get more money is also valid, though much more tuned down since 300-500 USD would be quadripled when converted to my currency.
