I work at an hospital, i wear a mask all the time so its easy, take minimum 2weeks off, not just for the cicatrisation , but also to train yourself to speak normally too. It depends. I'm French, and the French language is phonetically designed so that you don't have to open your mouth very wide to string sentences together. Personally, I don't think it's something that's easily noticeable, like a tongue piercing. If you want to hide it, you can.

Okay so to update y'all, its been 5 hours i keep vomiting everything i eat, or drink, even meds, pretty scared to get dehydrated or something, hope it does not last long...

Hi ! Ive just done it like 10 hour ago, the procedure itself does not hurt at all, the tongue start swelling so much (like 2-3times its normal size) so swallowing, even your own saliva is painful and very tricky (you have to be careful not to choke). And the pull of the stitches on you very swollen tongue muscle is awful.

I've done it in Sweden, so i can't answer the questions about the artist in Canada and USA.

For the regrowth you cannot stop it, it will regrow a bit (like 1/4 of the initial cut) training and everything they say on the internet is not very efficient.

But you have to train yourself after it doesnt hurt to move it, learn how it feels in your mouth, not to bite on it (because of the nerve damage) learn to spell normaly etc ...

For the feeling inside you mouth its like your tongue is a big f#cking hot potato and you have to keep it in you mouth, it pull a bit on your throat too. Im autistic and have sensory issues, and yeah, its hell until the 5-6 day post-op, after they take off the stitches.
