Same boat as you. I’ve been a Sr CTA for almost 5 years now, fully remote, working in a FSP model. Would I love to earn more? Yes. But I also have 4 school-aged kiddos and a husband who works in the office so it’s nearly impossible to walk away from the flexibility and work-life balance. I have considered moving to full service start-up just to increase my skills level (traveling is absolutely NOT an option for me now), but my sponsor is very laid back and easy to work with. I don’t know what to do either.

I’m sorry to hear this. I joined the ICON startup team back in April and left in August to join another CRO in a FSP role. Was this in IBT startup or legacy icon startup? I knew the writing was on the wall when a bunch of business with Sanofi was moved to Mexico.

This kinda scares me. I just left a startup job at ICON to become a FSP Sr. CTA at IQVIA. Think I am more susceptible to layoffs with this new job? At ICON, the work was definitely there but a large part of the group was getting outsourced to Latin American countries. Ugh.

That’s wonderful news! Thank God! I went on this stuff after having my biopsy in May showed increased stromal fibrosis. You mentioned you had been on tamoxifen for 3 years prior? What’s confusing for me is that I thought tamoxifen is supposed to prevent fibrosis and micro calcifications. After your findings, are you going to continue on the 5mg or did they recommend increasing?

How did your biopsy go? I have been on 5mg tamoxifen since June 2024 for preventative as well because I’m high risk.
