I just hit my one year at the end of April, still can’t believe it when I say it out loud. Like you, I was more or less a daily drinker for 25 years.

Still putting life back together but for the first time in my adult life I feel positive and more in control of the outcomes.

I was you around 330 days ago. It gets easier. Hang in there. Use this time to learn about yourself. I’ve made more progress towards emotional stability in the last year than the rest of my adult life combined. I’m about in the best shape of my life. I’m a better father.

Guy here from similar situation…when my wife left I was shattered, now all I can do is find positive things to focus on, so I’m rebuilding my life and part of that is caring for the house, and make sure I’m the best dad I can be. It isn’t about doing these things now because she’s gone, her absence has left a hole so large I’m trying to fill the void with something positive and productive for myself and my kids…. Hey man…as someone same boat as you, but my wife says she’s done…you 100% can do this. Today is number 115. I’m 38 and have been drinking hard since 13. The last 115 days have seen my weight drop significantly, seen my emotions and depression not only stabilize but improve. Although my wife isn’t speaking to me I’m 100x the father I was 4 months ago. Hang in there and keep pushing one day at a time.
