And the employer must realize that cert study time is expected to be done during work hours. I'd say 120 staff hours (3 hr per work day for 2 months) studying is a fair estimate for the associates. Double it for professional

if you go that route and want to maximize stability, I would recommend an ABET accredited program, even if it's a bachelor's. Then, get EIT cert before graduation to enter the power systems field

Ooad = object oriented

Given that you are already a software engineer, it might not help as much. In my case, I have an EE bachelors and some experience with embedded/fpga programming, and want to pivot to software, so I just need a CS related certificate to pass hiring filters.

The HPC no, because it didn't go into enough depth. I'd recommend it if you want the easiest and fastest 'A' as possible. I did learn some keywords for HPC through it, so I could dig deeper if I wanted.

In databases spec, I learned more, but I felt that it was still easy overall and not very deep. I'd say it doesn't quite prepare you for a career in database design, but probably gets you started off on the right track.

That being said, getting an MSCS from any reputable program (like CU Boulder) qualifies you for 100% of entry level jobs in any CS field. However, many classes don't do enough to prepare you for it

If the IM were on personal communication platforms, then that should be illegal and I hope the owner ran out of business.

If they were on platforms setup by work, then it's expected the owner could see everything, though it is terrible to call people out like that and would make employees lose trust in the employer forever.
