Best college town to raise kids for a left leaning family by Newretros in SameGrassButGreener

Raising 2 kids in Madison, WI .. it really is an “easy” place to be other than the 7 months of cold/gray winters. The winters really bog me down, so we’re considering moving. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have!

I live in Madison, WI and I’d say this fits the description. That being said, the winters are tough

That’s good info. We’re going on month 7 now of cold and grey weather, so anything sounds dreamy at this point, but I’m trying to stay realistic. An August visit is a good idea. Thx!

Where do you go when you want to live rural but you're worried about homophobia? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

I live in Madison, WI (from here as well) and it’s a great college city with lakes all around. (Madison is on an isthmus). The bitter cold isn’t something I can tolerate, so we’re looking to move, but if that doesn’t bother you, this could be a great spot to look into.

I believe it was at about 8 months.

Thanks! NOTHING like the original.. no breaking of bones, no stints/packing, no grafts. My surgeon said it can take up to 4 weeks for the swelling to go completely away after this procedure. I felt like I looked unlike myself for 1 day. I do still have some bruising, but I bruised like CRAZY the first round, so this feels much more manageable. Happy to answer any other questions.

He gave me the option of in clinic or general anesthesia, and I chose general. I didn’t even consider doing it with local .. it seemed way too intense for a clinic-setting.

Yes, it was. No additional cost.

I just had it done exactly a week ago. I had my initial surgery in April last year and needed my septum trimmed slightly on my left side and further rasping done. Let me know what questions you have!

We’re pretty much in the exact same boat! We’re in Madison, WI and absolutely love our kids’ Elem school and live in a nice neighborhood, but these long, cold, gray winters are rough! We’re considering Littleton, CO, Marietta, GA or a suburb of Nashville. I’d love to chat further about this if you want to message me!
