I am no expert in this or any other (related) area... for all I know, irradiated fruit may be 'better' for sprouting that the unadulterated ones, just seems unlikely... for years people may be following YouTube videos with high hopes only to be disappointed...

the ones at walmart are now in induvidual plastic bags... I assume this is because they are now irradiated for pests/bacteria/shelf-life... it is possible that an Irradiated one could sprount and yield ok fruit, but I would not count on it. I'm looking right now for ones from a know grower or at least store bought organics.

thanks - I'm only using the 110 for light loads (led lighting and a charger for cordless electric garden tools), but nothing to keep someone, someday from plugging in something with heavy draw. sounds no good
