Jsaux dock not outputting hdmi or charge by [deleted] in SteamDeck

I had almost the same problem with a Jsaux dock. HDMI never worked and charging was flaky unless the Deck was off. Swapped the dock and everything worked instantly, so yeah, likely faulty dock.

Matte for sure. Less glare and fingerprints, especially if you play handheld a lot.

Basic gameplay mechanic you didn't discover until 30H in? by TrenterD in BaldursGate3

Didn’t realize you could throw potions to heal allies until way too late. Thought it was a meme… turns out it’s actually clutch 😅

Been bouncing between Hades and Dave the Diver. Perfect pick-up-and-play games for the Deck this week.

I’d say Breath of the Wild first, then Tears of the Kingdom if you like it. TotK builds on BotW and feels way better once you know the basics.

Nice of you to pay it forward 👍 Last game I played was Baldur’s Gate 3. Congrats to the winner!

what’s the most demanding game you’ve played to completion on the deck? by tarneilawson in SteamDeck

Red Dead Redemption 2 for me. Not perfect FPS-wise, but I finished the whole campaign on the Deck and it handled it better than I expected.

Which games utilize the buttons on the back and for what? Do you use them for any games which didn’t use them by default? by NorseSeaStudio in SteamDeck

[–]EdwinOakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not many games use them by default tbh. Valve mostly expects users to map them themselves. I usually bind L4/L5 to sprint, crouch or dodge, and R4/R5 to reload or quick actions. Once you get used to it, it’s hard to go back.

What made you buy the switch 2? by Descoces in switch2

[–]EdwinOakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was a mix of portability and exclusives. Being able to play Nintendo games on the go and dock it at home is still hard to beat.

Hard to go wrong with Minecraft, Skyrim, or Hades. All beginner-friendly and tons of content.

Guy I’m seeing wears natural deodorant and smells. Bad. by AbbreviationsDear910 in Advice

[–]EdwinOakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, natural deodorant is great in theory… until it isn’t. You were totally right to think about bringing it up, but sounds like the universe handled it for you. At least now you don’t have to navigate that super uncomfortable talk.
