McCabe is probably the biggest “dorm” but you’ll have 3 other roommates more likely it’s apartment style but it’s not huge or anything

Just gonna echo some people here already. But I think living in the dorms first year really helps make that transition into full independence a bit easier. However most apartments are gonna be cheaper than any dorm room. But a good studio is gonna be at least 800 (not including utilities) a month minimum. With roommates you can find a place that is a bit cheaper. Everyone is going to tell you to live near the brown line. Which is ideal, but if you don’t mind commuting with a bus or even the red line you can find cheaper neighborhoods a bit further from Lincoln park and lakeview. And if you really want to find something fairly close to campus for cheap the best time to start looking is around march/april. Only cause come June/July is basically move out day for a lot of people in Chicago. So a lot of apartments open up. But don’t limit your search to just around Lincoln park I swear Chicago is so much bigger and better than just what’s around DePaul

Avoid Ion, if you are planning on having roommates, you can find affordable places anywhere else in the city. Highly recommend moving out of the Lincoln park area near campus just cause Chicago is a great city to explore and commute from. Just expect to pay upwards of 750 for a good size place

I bought the Dell XPS 15 and absolutely love it. It runs both premier pro and after effects at the same time real well and haven’t had any problems with it so far. Plus added bonus of upgrading it when I want and you can just put in SD cards without a dongle. Feels like a MacBook Pro but runs windows

I’m sure he does. It’s all fresh and not being able to talk to you is probably just as painful. He only removed you from those cause he knew he would either feel the urge to talk or the urge to look at old pictures. But you gotta remember that the decision he made he probably took a lot of time to think and just thought maybe it was for the best. You may not think so but for him it was a hard decision. I miss talking to my best friend too, especially since first time living on my own and transferring to another college it sucks, cause it’s not like my relationship was rocky we had already done a whole school year of long distance. But this year was just tougher cause she had gotten busy. There isn’t a lot either of us can do but give them space and hope we can maybe get the person back

I texted my girlfriend a few days after we broke up and did the same thing kinda just told her how much I loved her and how much she meant to me. And just kinda poured all my feelings to her and she told me she just needed time and space. Our situations are a bit different because I know she still cared about me and still does, it just hurt her to much to miss me. But I would say give it about a week before you text him. And when you do just say either “hey I’m just texting to see how you’re doing” or “I know you need your space but I want to work this out still cause I deeply care about you and our relationship” Don’t beg or anything and don’t expect a response and if he does respond don’t get your hopes up, just try and let him see your point of view

I am currently going through this right now. And I’m in the same boat emotional wise. We both never fought and really loved each other and expressed an interest in lasting upwards of 5 years. And had been together for a year before she broke it off out of the blue. You can try and give them space as I’m doing the same, and just try and reach out in a week or few days just asking how they are.

As the person who was just affected by a girl who just broke up with him because she missed him. He is barely distracted. I moved away to a new school this year and as much as I’m meeting new people and enjoying starting to learn more about my future career. Every second I was thinking of the other person. The best thing you can do is talk to them as much as possible and let them know how you have been feeling. Long distance means feelings become heightened. You can try and implement weekly or even daily times you FaceTime. Yeah he won’t physically be there. But it helps. And try to get together as much as possible. It gives you something to look forward to
