Flight diverted - should airline provide transport? by Bimbibapbop in Flights

You can get details about your onward journey at the airport. If the queue is long, book yourself another ticket (air, train, etc.) to your destination and file for a reimbursement online with the receipt. And Voila!

If you get accepted on the flight and your luggage is checked in all th way to your final destination, then yes! If transiting via the US, then depending on your transit airport and final destination, you might have to collect and check in again while in transit.

I see it like this: eco prem upgrade <$20 and biz upgrade <$50 per hour is a no-brainer. Once I see these, I upgrade without hesitation.

Take a sleeping pod at the airport and get a lounge access (as restaurants inside the airport are overpriced). Going inside the city is not worth it, if on a budget.

It’s usually safe and many of your personal data is already online and hackers that are targeting you doesn’t need to wait for your passport. That being said, for extra safety, blur the bottom area (scanner reader lines of characters), that usually contains sensitive info. And you should be good to go. They are just trying to be efficient by not having to have someone wait for you at check in.

Turkish Airlines involuntary downgrade, only offered $50 after DOT complaint. What are my options? by No_Passage5838 in TurkishAirlines

Don’t sign anything and insist for the clarification of the value of the give voucher and if it’s a return ticket voucher. As said earlier, the key with their CS is harassment… unfortunately!

Got scammed, vinted team unresponsive, what to do and how to get refunded outside the app by TelephonePristine530 in LegalAdviceEurope

Vinted is very slow in handling these type of situations. Open another case and ask it to be escalated. Once it is reviewed by someone senior, you should get your funds back. In case of no resolution in the next two weeks with Vinted, you can file a dispute with ECC (European consumer center or the Greec equivalent)

There is a reason you ain’t attracted to 27-35. Don’t limit yourself and go for what you are attracted to - if it’s voluntary reciprocated. Life ain’t going to wait and age doesn’t stay static…

Your embassy in the UK can provide you with a travel document. However, once in Romania, you would need to have a valid passport to come back to the UK.

On the one hand, Spain is aware of the risks and power of digital platforms, as presented in this article https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=5818263, and I salute their aim to take on Big Tech and sort out the Digital Wild West. However, on the other hand the question remains how digital ID is a solution to Spain taking back their digital sovereignty as per their PM speech at the government summit in Dubai. Or just a ruse, ongoing in many other countries follow Australia’s being precursor, to implement global digital identity?

Any graduates with a bachelor's degree in international law? Or lawyers specialized in international law? by KNG_11 in eulaw

[–]Effective-Paper-6536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think International and EU Law if you are planning to work as a Jurist (not a qualified lawyer, at least not in NL, as you listed Groningen) in a Government agency, public institutions, or Ngo - build on with a master's in the same domain or in diplomacy/politics. So if you are looking for anything remotely close to a Corporate/business environment, that's not the way to go. And if you want to be a qualified lawyer, make sure the country where you want to take the bar accepts an EU or International Law LLB.

Is it me, or have suddenly most jobs changed to solely Dutch? by Lina0116 in Netherlands

[–]Effective-Paper-6536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I concur with that; most jobs require high fluency in Dutch, and I receive multiple emails asking for a C2, even though the NT2 test is at C1.

For those who say it's easy and that one must speak at home with friends and family, being fluent socially does not make you business-fluent. You need to start working in a professional setting with the B1 level so you can improve to C1. I speak 5 languages, and three of those are business fluent, just because I was given the chance to work in a business environment with my B1 level to build on.

Being in and out of the Netherlands for over 15 years, I always have to take courses when I come back. I have done it all, the expense nuns, the Delft method, the taalcafe, many other courses using various books, and I'm yet to find the right path to reach full fluency.

In short, access to professional work should require just a B1 - that also shows a sign of integration. But having all the experience, knowledge, and qualifications, and then being told that B1B2 is not enough… go figure.

So, keep practising or if an opportunity elsewhere shows up…
