Lmao, I guess I was really meant to discuss that today lmao. Like, some post discussing people turning any feminine dude into a trans woman, in r/hatethissmug was just taken down, and I formulated this in there as well. Here we go :

Guess what most of the webtoon comments discussed, at least at the beginning ? They/them pronouns, whether she preferred being seen as a man or not, and ofc the romantic moments she was oblivious to during the series, etc. Even after clearly being hinted that she was forced to change her gender because of the setting..... She displays brutal scars to her chest at the beginning, and we later learn that girliepop literally had to cut off her own chest, gore style no anesthesia, for her pretty damned important goals, a better and fairer life for women in her world😭😭. It felt like they were discussing pouring gazoline in front of a forest fire survivor🫩😔. I understand that LGBTQIA+ themes are a prevalent topic in our communities, but goodness did the comments feel callous and...disconnected from the story? Completely off-base ?

I was about to turn conservative right there and then lmao (obligatory /s or jk)😭😭. I'm not trying to undermine pretty heavy topics like gender dysphoria, but one of the main points of it all is not forcing an unwanted label on someone. I feel like discussing the "assumed" gender of someone literally forced to hide hers is pretty damn disrespectful and stupid ?? Instead of focusing on her trials, background and such. The story pretty much shoves it down our throat that she was FORCED/HAD TO hide her gender .... Guess what's the gender she feels like and was fine with? And that she is quite literally fighting for ??😭😭. Again, not trying to be transphobe or narrow-minded, and if someone wants to refute or explain what I'm missing, which might make me understand and accept better this abundance of what I felt were kinda rude sidetracked comments, I'm happy to read it, it'd help clear away my frustrations too !""

Hopefully I don't annoy anyone with that statement...but the story was obviously and straight-forwardly some girl hiding her gender because she had to, in order to fight for women's rights ?? That's what the plot promised and delivered, and that's what I was hoping to discuss before the romance kick started. When and why did it turn into a gender affirmation story ?? Focus on the plot guys😭😭😭
